I took my dad in for a consultation with Dr. Meek, and the experience was outstanding. His staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. Dr. Meek was amazing—he took the time to thoroughly explain all of our options and made sure we fully understood everything. He even came out to visit with me personally while my dad was receiving his treatment. We felt truly cared for every step of the way.

I went to 38th Street Dental today for my X-rays and cleaning, and this was my very first visit — and wow, what an experience. I had the absolute pleasure of being taken care of by Regina and Dr. David Tasch, and they truly rocked today.
I typically have extreme dental anxiety, but from the moment I walked in, I felt calm, heard, and comfortable. Regina was so kind, patient, and gentle, explaining everything along the way and making sure I was okay. Dr. Tasch was just as amazing — professional, reassuring, and thorough without ever making me feel rushed or overwhelmed.
This visit completely changed how I feel about going to the dentist. The environment was welcoming, the care was top-tier, and my anxiety was basically nonexistent — which says a LOT. I’m genuinely grateful for such a positive first experience and couldn’t recommend this office, Regina, and Dr. Tasch enough.
The front office staff were nice as well. They are the face of the office. Getting that warm welcome feeling upon check in and check out is amazing and makes you want to return, especially when it’s your first visit. I didn’t catch their names,
but they rocked.
If you’re nervous about dental visits, this is absolutely the place to go.

A very amazing and friendly place. They do thorough and gentle teeth cleaning. No more sore gums after cleaning. The stuff is friendly patient, and easy to talk to. Waiting time is always minimal.
They do charge more so they can focus on providing high quality services rather than selling extra things to you. But it is so worth it. Highly recommend this place.

There are many good things about this practice. First and foremost the quality of the treatment seems very high. My results have been good. I also like the way the office is run in terms of very minimal wait times - I’m usually in the chair within a minute or two of my appointment time, and for simple cleaning sessions you can be in and out in less than 30 mins. My one improvement point is a lack of flexibility on appointment times, which are booked 6 months in advance. If you need to move the time or day closer in they are forced to shift you out a month or more even if you contact them a week in advance with a requested change. My last appointment I spent about 2 mins with the Dr - it seems like there would be more flexibility.

I had an amazing experience here - I truly felt taken care of above and beyond. The entire team is so kind, professional, and welcoming, and the office itself is beautiful and calming. You can really tell they care about their patients. Highly recommend!

About 38th Street Dental
38th Street Dental is a family and general dentistry practice located in Central Austin, Texas, on West 38th Street. The practice has served the greater Austin area since 1997 and focuses on dental implants, cosmetic dentistry, and restorative care alongside routine preventive dentistry. The practice is led by Dr. Mike Meek and Dr. David Tasch, who have practiced together since graduating dental school in 1997, along with Dr. Amanda Akkari. The dentists emphasize a conservative, patient centered approach rather than high pressure sales tactics, and they use digital X-rays, digital impressions, and other current diagnostic tools to plan treatment. For patients considering dental implants, the office offers implant placement using Nobel Biocare implant systems along with the surgical planning and restorative work needed to complete the process, all within a private practice setting in Central Austin.
