Excellent staff! They treat you with a great amount of courtesy and respect. The consultation was thorough, and everything was well explained. If you're thinking about implants, it's worth your time to go and talk to them.

Nothing but a good overall experience so far the doctor is was confident and efficient and the technician was calm and reassuring she had the perfect temperament and made me feel comfortable. I’m halfway through a full replacement and it’s been less painful and easier than I expected. I would definitely recommend the team at JP dental.

I initially called the office to find out what implant post brand Dr. Poovey placed in 2017 because I was looking for a new implant dentist to handle my cleanings after JP stopped accepting insurance years ago. As a result, I had not been having my implants professionally cleaned. During that call, I was informed they are now accepting insurance again and was given a very encouraging explanation that some of the issues I’ve been experiencing might even be covered under warranty. Based on that conversation, I decided to give the office another try.
Dr. Wilcox then quoted me for cleaning all 8 of my upper and lower implant posts and grinding down two exposed posts, including numbing. However, only 2 of the 4 lower posts were worked on — and no numbing was provided (it wasn’t necessary). Despite the significant reduction in services from what was quoted, my bill was not adjusted.
I was charged $700 out of pocket for approximately 20 minutes of work, which involved grinding down just two posts. That cost feels excessive given the limited services that were actually performed compared to the original treatment plan.
Additionally, I had to inform the front office as they were preparing to bill my insurance an additional $178 based on the original quote for cleaning all 8 posts — not the two that were actually treated. It was concerning that the billing did not reflect the actual services provided.
I am very disappointed that the charges were not corrected to match the work completed. Patients deserve clear treatment plans, transparent pricing, and accurate billing. Unfortunately, due to this experience, I will be looking for another dental office, possibly O’Harra, moving forward.

I want to start by saying that JP Dental is excellent when it comes to selling the implant process and making you feel comfortable in the beginning. The consultations were warm, reassuring, and made us feel confident that we were in good hands.
But this is where my mixed emotions come in.
Once the work was done, the level of comfort and attentiveness that was promised — and that so many reviews mention — just wasn’t there for us. Aftercare felt extremely minimal, and instead of feeling supported, we ended up feeling shunned and like an inconvenience. For a $32,000 treatment plan, that’s a hard pill to swallow.
Within just a few days, pieces started falling off, yet there was no urgency from the office to get us back in and make things right. The lack of concern was honestly disappointing and added unnecessary stress to an already stressful situation.
I do want to acknowledge something important: there are a few shining stars in this office. Three assistants in particular were absolutely amazing — kind, patient, and clearly dedicated to their work. They are the reason this review isn’t purely negative.
And to be completely fair, the implants themselves do look amazing. The final aesthetic result is beautiful — it’s clear the clinical side of the work has skill behind it. We truly wish the overall experience had matched the quality of the finished product.
Unfortunately, the administrative staff doesn’t offer the same warmth. They often came across cold and lacking people skills, which only amplified the frustration we were already experiencing.
And the part that hurts the most? We genuinely wanted to trust them. We walked into this journey believing we had finally found a place that could give us comfort, hope, and relief after years of dental challenges. We put so much faith — emotionally and financially — into their hands. To feel let down after placing that level of trust is something that stays with you long after the appointment ends. We didn’t just invest money; we invested our belief in them. And that’s what makes the disappointment so deeply felt.
