The physician and his staff were exceptional! They held my hand when I got nervous, and were very patient. Tracey, Vanessa, and the other lady up front were very informative and friendly. I highly recommended to come here if anyone who needs an extraction.

Was referred by our General dentist for wisdom teeth extraction. Reading the reviews I became real nervous with what our experience would be. Even more so when I realized our surgeon would be Dr. Hulquist. But to my surprise he listened, he was informative, and all seemed well. I was not the patient, so I don't know how things went while under, but my son recovered well with no major issues. No bone spurs, no dry sockets. Only some minor bruising to one side of his face, which is the side he did briefly complain about bothering him the most after the surgery. But I have no complaints at all. Everything went as expected for removing 4 wisdom teeth.

Although tooth extractions are not something to look forward to, Alamo Heights Oral Surgery and everyone especially Dr. Hultquist were amazing. I didn’t feel any pain and feeling well the very next day.

Dr. Holquist and team at Alamo Heights Oral Surgery were great! Dr. Holquist answered all of our questions during the consult. Our child had a speedy recovery with no complications. I would highly recommend Alamo Heights Oral Surgery.

I had to come in for an emergency extraction a few months ago. Dr. Medley has been beyond amazing. He's had me come back for check ups to ensure everything is healing properly, has an amazing bedside manner....and did a great, very quick and thorough job on the extraction! It was a tough one because I was in so much pain but he handled it very well. I highly recommend!

The practice was founded in March 2007 by Dr. Christopher Medley, DDS, MD, a board certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon who retired from active practice in January 2024. Dr. Farrell and Dr. Praetzel, who trained under Dr. Medley, purchased the practice to carry on his tradition of care in the Alamo Heights community. Dr. Hultquist served 22 years in the Air Force, where he chaired the Oral Surgery Department at Wilford Hall Medical Center, and later led the oral and maxillofacial surgery department at the Audie Murphy Memorial Veterans Administration Hospital. Dr. Havard, a board certified oral surgeon from Gulfport, Mississippi, earned his dental degree at the University of Mississippi and completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at Baylor in Dallas, and he focuses on tooth extractions, including impacted wisdom teeth, and dental implant placement. Dr. Farrell completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio and served on a head and neck trauma team during a deployment to Joint Base Balad in Iraq, where he was also the Theater Consultant for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Praetzel earned his dental degree at the University of Pittsburgh, completed his residency at Wilford Hall Medical Center, served thirteen years on active duty as an Air Force surgeon, and currently serves as President of the American Board of Facial Cosmetic Surgery.
