Competent to deal with straightforward oral surgery cases, less so with complicated cases. Bone grafting after spontaneous loss of implant with bone resorption went fine. Implant placement was complicated by cold sore outbreak with the trauma of oral surgery. The dental practice checked to see if the inflammation was due to development of a local ingection. Therecwasn't. Had to reach out to internal medicine PCP to manage the prolonged and painful inflammation.
Two years later, the same implant failed. Extraction was quick--the implant was very loose. The cleaning around the implant around the failed implant resulted in a robust inflammatory response. Immediate outreach to PCP the next day reduced inflammation.
This practice is capable of handling straightforward, uncomplicated cases. For more complicated cases, may wantvto find a practice with more specialized experuence.

Albany Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery is truly exceptional. From the very first moment we walked in, the front staff made us feel welcomed, calm, and supported. Every person we encountered was kind, organized, and genuinely positive.
Dr. Giao Vu is absolutely amazing. The way he cared for my son, Zayden, was beyond professional — it was compassionate, gentle, and reassuring. You can immediately tell he truly loves what he does and deeply cares for his patients.
His surgical team was outstanding, especially Donovan (I hope I’m spelling that correctly). The teamwork, calm energy, and professionalism were incredible to witness. They treated my son with so much patience and respect.
What touched me most was the recovery process. We were never rushed. They took their time with Zayden, made sure he was comfortable, gave him plenty of IV fluids to help him feel better, and kept reassuring both of us. Their patience and kindness meant everything to a worried mom.
The office is spotless, beautifully organized, and runs so smoothly. You can feel the positivity in the environment. I work in healthcare myself, and I can honestly say this team sets the bar high. It is rare to see such genuine care — not only for patients, but clearly for one another as well.
Thank you a million times over to Dr. Vu and the entire Albany Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery team for taking such incredible care of my son. We will never forget the kindness you showed our family.

Such caring, kind and friendly staff. Explained the procedure every step of the way. Made you feel comfortable throughout the whole process. Doctor and surgery assistant spoke softly and encouraging throughout. Nice and inviting waiting area. I'd recommend this office if one has to endure wisdom teeth extraction. But, so glad it's all done!!

Dr.Vu was extremely nice, gentile, and fast! I got a tooth pulled so quickly and painlessly i thought they were still prepping me for my procedure when they said it was all over. The staff was extremely sweet and answered all of my questions and made me feel very relaxed, as well.
