As always, I experience AMAZING service at Apple Family Dental. I'm SO grateful they offer the insurance savings plan since I wouldn't have coverage without it. Thanks for continuing to offer amazing service.

My fiancé and I both received treatment at this office, and our experiences were extremely disappointing. During my first visit, I observed another patient raising concerns about prior dental work completed at this location, which immediately gave me pause. During my own appointment, I found the dentist’s communication style to be dismissive and lacking professionalism while reviewing my X-rays and completing the exam. The overall tone left me uncomfortable. My fiancé later had a crown placed at this office. During the procedure, he communicated multiple times that he was still experiencing pain and requested additional numbing. He was told it was unnecessary and remained uncomfortable for the remainder of the procedure. Within eight months of placement, the crown detached twice. The first time, it was re-cemented without charge. The second time, he was charged to have the same crown reattached despite the prior failure. Prior to attachment, the crown was lost for a small period of time and dropped on the floor. After the second detachment, we were informed that there was insufficient remaining tooth structure and that a post would need to be placed to properly support the crown — something that had not been discussed at the time of the initial procedure. Based on our multiple experiences, we will be seeking care elsewhere and cannot recommend this practice to friends or family.

I’m a 100% disabled veteran who usually gets my dental work done with the VA. The VA had a dental hygienist quit so they had to cancel my appointment and send me to a community based dentist. I had a full checkup with X-rays and a cleaning. Apple Family Dental provided my care and I couldn’t be happier.

Apple Family Dental is a general and family dental practice serving Longview, Washington, and the surrounding communities of Kelso, Castle Rock, Kalama, and Cathlamet, Washington, as well as Rainier, Oregon. The practice describes itself as offering a wide range of treatments rather than a limited menu, including dental implants, root canal treatment, crowns, bridges, fillings, dentures, tooth extractions, Invisalign, teeth whitening, porcelain veneers, and routine cleanings and periodontal maintenance. The office also lists digital X-rays, intraoral cameras, electric handpieces, and nitrous oxide among the tools it uses to make visits more comfortable and precise.
For patients considering dental implants, the practice explains that a titanium post is placed in the jaw under local anesthesia, allowed to heal and bond with the bone, and then restored with a custom crown, bridge, or denture depending on how many teeth are missing. The practice says it places special emphasis on treatment planning, evaluating bone and soft tissue ahead of surgery so that any need for bone grafting can be anticipated. Dr. Gourley, who acquired the practice in 2014, is described on the site as certified to place dental implants. The team notes that some staff can accommodate Russian-speaking patients, and the office offers financial options and special offers for its patients.
The practice is led by Dr. Julia Gourley, DMD, who acquired Apple Family Dental in 2014. She earned her dental degree from Oregon Health and Science University School of Dentistry in 2012 after graduating from Portland State University with a Bachelor of Science with highest honors. According to the practice's website, Dr. Gourley is certified to place dental implants and to perform the Chao Pinhole Surgery Technique, a minimally invasive gum recession treatment, and she describes herself as an avid learner of new dental procedures.
