I have to admit I was very apprehensive about Aspen Dental as the reviews were so mixed. I was looking for a new dentist and when I started calling around most places we’re not taking new patients. Or I just never received a requested call back. All that to say the staff at the Altoona location were exceptional! Every single person I had an encounter with was wonderful! Thank you for making me feel at ease!!!

Edit to 5 stars. I was in pain and grouchy first review. I had my tooth extracted and they were amazing. If not for my job they could have gotten me in sooner. Now that I'm an established patient it'll also help. They got me right in, numbed me. I was worried that it wasn't enough so he gave me more. They were all very nice. I felt really comfortable. Embarrassed that I let my teeth get that way but so happy to have it out quick with least amount of pain. I would give 5 stars if they could have done something that day. I called with a dental emergency and they got me in quick to say the same thing that I already had a referral for. They said on the phone that i could prob get it done that day. I was told that I'd have to be awake to get in asap. I didn't know that sedation was an option. I just want it out. I'm in pain. Cant eat, sleep or function well pain. They were booked so made an appt for a wk later. I understand the epidemic but I'd rather have another child than to have a bad tooth. They got me in much faster than other surgeons but you can see its really bad. It's broke and breathing hurts. Nerves are exposed. If can't do anything that day help with pain please. The other local places gave me appts for Sept and its march so Im grateful they will get me in faster but I'm so miserable. There is no such thing as an actual emergency dentist since mine retired. He would get you in a day or 2 later. You could call him at home if super bad but times change and that was in a very small town.

Renee is the best dental assistant I’ve ever had. I had an appointment today and the dental assistant completely changed the whole experience for me. She was incredibly kind, patient, and attentive from the moment I sat down. She explained everything clearly, checked on me constantly, and made sure I was comfortable the entire time. You can tell she genuinely cares about people — not just doing her job, but making sure you feel safe and supported. Her energy made a stressful situation feel easy, and I’m truly grateful for her professionalism and compassion. If every dental office had someone like her, people wouldn’t dread going to the dentist. She deserves all the recognition.

This experience was honestly the best ever. Dr. Garvey and Mary Ann are the best. The care that I received was out of this world. They were both really professional! I was scared but they both made me feel so comfortable. They went over and beyond to help me!! I’m and extremely happy!! Every time I come in to the office it’s a 10/10. I couldn’t be more happy with everything your staff has done for me.

I have been having a hard time finding a dentist that i feel comfortable going to. I was able to call and schedule a visit the same day which is usually hard to do at most places. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly at AspenDental in Altoona PA. I have never been to a dentist before that made me feel like they actually cared about my teeth. Renee D.A was absolutely amazing during my whole entire visit. I really appreciate you guys!! Thanks for being awesome!!

The office accepts most major dental insurance plans, does not accept Medicaid, and works with third-party lenders to offer flexible financing and payment plans. Same-day and walk-in appointments may be available when open slots allow, and the office is open Tuesday through Friday, with the practice recommending patients call ahead for urgent needs such as tooth pain, swelling, or a broken tooth.
