I recently visited Aspel Dental in DeFuniak, and my experience was extremely disappointing and deeply concerning. I was excited when this location opened because it is close to my home, and my daughter—who has special needs—requires regular dental care due to medication that affects her teeth. From the moment we arrived, the staff was unprofessional and rude. The dentist told me there was “nothing they could do,” which is simply false. My daughter has been receiving consistent monthly treatment in Fort Walton without any issues, so I know for a fact that care is possible. What upset me the most was when the owner stated they could not treat my daughter because she is disabled. This is not only unacceptable—it is discriminatory. No parent should ever be told their child cannot receive care due to a disability. My insurance only allows her to be seen at this location, yet no one made any effort to help us or offer alternatives. The lack of compassion, professionalism, and basic respect was shocking. I would strongly advise others to think twice before bringing their family here. No one should have to experience the discrimination and dismissiveness we faced.

My fiance and I took her to get seen for gum recession. We were first seen by Hailey and she did a fantastic job at explaining to us what she thought was going on, answered all our questions with a great attitude. Dr. T came in later to talk to us as well. His personality and attitude were such a huge breath of fresh air as my fiancé and i have been struggling with her dental needs for years now without much help. Dr. T also thoroughly explained his observations and walked us through more proper hygiene practices and recommended some brands of oral hygiene products which was very helpful. We were then brought over to Dakota to talk more about insurance and billing. She was very friendly and you could tell she had that compassion that most financial associates lack. She went over our options and understood our current financial position, in which she recommended another insurance company that might be able to help us. Overall, this Aspen Dental location was unlike any other dental office we’ve been to. The whole staff we interacted with made the visit so much less stressful. If you’re needing oral care, Defuniak Spring’s Aspen Dental is 100% worth your while. Thank you guys!

My son and I were both seen at this location on the same day. The front desk lady was very welcoming. The rest of the staff that we had the pleasure of working with (Dyllan, Hailey, and Dr. T) made us feel comfortable and well taken care of. The finance lady was also understanding on what my budget was and helped where she could. I definitely recommend this location. 😊

I had a broken tooth and was in extreme pain. It took 4 days just to be seen because they wouldn't pull the tooth without making me go through a ridiculously pointless "full comprehensive exam" first, which ended up making it $1,250 for 2 basic tooth extractions. After that they tried to reschedule me for another day after I was assured it would be pulled that day on the phone since it was an emergency. The female dentist (I can't remember her name) tried to push me off after lunch while we had already been there 4 hours and ultimately didn't explain anything to me about the process. I needed a 2nd tooth pulled and she didn't say anything about it to me. After all of this the secretary felt horrible because she booked the appointment for me and knew I was in extreme pain. She was amazing and got the other dentist Dr.Ye to pull my teeth immediately. Dr.Ye was extremely professional, had a great attitude, and was absolutely amazing about explaining the whole process and why the 2nd tooth needed to be pulled. This would have been a 1 star review but Dr.Ye's exceptional service compared to what I experienced just before that has to be recognized. He's a 5 star dentist all day. Aspen needs to take notes from Dr.Ye and do some better chair side training for the rest of its dentists. If you have to vist the Defuniak location I highly recommend Dr.Ye. I simply cannot say enough nice things about him, he turned the whole experience around for me.

I could not have had a more pleasant experience at the Aspen Dental location in Defuniak Springs Florida. Everyone in that office is so professional and courteous. It was like a breath of fresh air being taken care of by them. So many places make you feel like you’re just a number but this place makes you feel like you’re the only person that matters. If you’re not having your dental work done by Aspen Dental of Defuniak Springs, Florida, you’re going to the wrong place.
