I'm 68 years old and petrified of the dentist, due to a combination of bad childhood experiences at the dentist and not enough dental care because of cost. I was white- knuckling it going into the office, but immediately was set at ease by the bubbly young lady at the front desk. Then, I met Rachel when she called me back for my xrays. She explained every step in the process. She was quick and efficient. I felt very comfortable with her. She made me feel like my comfort was priority. She eased my anxiety a bit by sharing her own dental fears. I never thought that someone who works in a dentist office, might have their own anxiety about dental work. Who knew. Through the whole exam, she shared tips and tricks to ease the process of the xrays and impressions. Rachel was amazing! When Dr Hussain came in, she was just as accommodating and reassuring as Rachel. I'm very ashamed of my teeth and I'm always embarrassed of what people think about my teeth. Dr Hussain didn't hesitate, didn't respond negatively at all. I had a dentist once call his colleague in to look at my teeth because they were so crooked. They stood there in the room with me talking about how they had never seen anything quite that bad. Needless to say, I'm always waiting for the negative comments to come rolling out. But that didn't happen here. I feel very fortunate to have these two ladies involved with my dental care. The young lady who helped go over the costs was very knowledgeable and helpful. I'm still trying to figure out the financing( dentures are not cheap), but when I do, Aspen Dental will be my choice. Top notch!

From the moment I made an appointment everything was amazing. Check in was awesome fast and quick and everyone I seen from the lady that did my x-rays, the dental hygienist, the dentist and the lady taking care of setting my appointment with the specialist and financial payment plans was all amazing. They answered all my questions and help me figure out the best possible option for my teeth. I was on a time crunch and they made it possible for me to see The specialist which was my main priority. I was very happy with the service and the place is very clean nice and made me feel really comfortable definitely a great choice..

I have a medical urgency involving cancer of the neck treatment could cause dental problems and so I am seeing Aspen to determine what does or doesn’t need to be done before radiation and Chemo treatment begins. They were very accommodating to my urgent need and scheduled me on no notice. I am very happy and grateful for their help. 5 Stars!!

Please get a second opinion before accepting expensive treatment plans from Aspen Dental (all locations). I was told I had urgent periodontal disease, major bone loss, and needed over $4,000 worth of deep cleaning treatment. It caused severe anxiety and stress for me for months. I later went to a family owned dental office and was told I did not have periodontal disease and did not need the treatment Aspen Dental pushed on me. My experience felt fear based and financially motivated rather than patient centered. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

Update 1 month after Aspen Dental indicated they were looking into the fact that they wrecked my teeth and thanked me for my patience: CRICKETS. Their replies to all their negative reviews are lip service. Again - STAY AWAY. AVOID THIS DENTIST. ____ Terrible. Only dentist I've ever been to where I have MORE pain after dental work than beforehand, lasting to this day (over a year later). Only dentist I've ever been forced to sign a waiver before dental work (wonder why...). I spent $6k with them on a crown and fillings but the worst part isn't the money. It's that they permanently wrecked my teeth. I rarely leave reviews but wouldn't want anyone else to trust this place with their teeth. Stay away. Literally any other dentist has got to be better than this one.

About Aspen Dental - Eugene

Aspen Dental in Eugene is located at 1055 Valley River Way, near the Valley River Center shopping area on the north side of town, making it a convenient stop for patients throughout Eugene, Springfield, and surrounding Lane County communities. The practice offers a full range of general and restorative dentistry, including checkups and cleanings, fillings, extractions, root canals, and cosmetic services like whitening and veneers, alongside its core focus on dentures and dental implants. For patients missing one or more teeth, the office provides options ranging from single implants to full-arch implant supported dentures, with treatment planning and, when appropriate, oral surgery coordinated through the practice's care team.

What sets this location apart within the Aspen Dental network is its emphasis on same-day appointments and upfront, itemized cost estimates before treatment begins, which can ease some of the financial uncertainty that often accompanies implant care. Patients considering implants can expect an initial exam, x-rays, and a personalized consultation to discuss whether implants, implant supported bridges, or implant dentures are the right fit for their needs and budget. As with any Aspen Dental office, the practice is owned and operated by a licensed dentist, and staffing can include several general dentists and visiting specialists, so patients should confirm which provider will be handling their specific implant procedure when they schedule their consultation.

Meet the Doctors

Four dentists currently care for patients at the Aspen Dental office on Valley River Way in Eugene. Dr. Erum Hussain is the practice owner and leads the team. Dr. Emily Case is an endodontist, a dentist who focuses on treating the inside of the tooth, including root canals. Dr. Thomas Mirchel is an oral surgeon who handles procedures such as extractions and dental implants. Dr. Dana Bowers is an associate dentist who holds both the DDS and DMD dental degrees. Because more than one dentist practices here, patients are encouraged to ask the office which dentist will handle their specific consultation or procedure when they schedule.
