I had all four wisdom teeth removed, and the entire experience was5/5 stars. Dr. Daweri, Kim, and the staff were incredible, making me feel at ease immediately. The procedure was incredibly quick and most importantly completely pain-free! Highly recommended this office!!!

Great staff! Great experience! Had a gum graft done a month ago! And everyone did a great job following up with me to make sure I was ok! Wonderful experience!

I waited several months for an evaluation and came in fully prepared to move forward with care. I understood that difficult information might need to be discussed and was open to hearing hard truths. What I was not prepared for was how emotionally overwhelming and uncomfortable the experience became.
From early in the appointment, the tone felt repetitive, judgmental, and increasingly discouraging rather than collaborative. Sensitive health topics were discussed loudly in an open treatment area where others could hear, which felt embarrassing and lacked privacy. The interaction became especially uncomfortable after discussing smoking, despite the fact that this information had already been disclosed on my intake forms. Rather than feeling supported through a difficult conversation, I felt repeatedly lectured and reminded of worst-case outcomes.
At one point, after explaining that addiction is complicated and not something I take lightly, I was met with the statement, “I’m a periodontist, not your psychologist,” which felt dismissive and unnecessarily personal. A personal story about a family member’s poor outcome was also shared in a way that felt emotionally charged rather than objective or supportive.
When I asked for space during an increasingly uncomfortable interaction, I was told I would not be treated because I seemed like I would be a “difficult patient,” despite arriving ready and willing to move forward with care.
What impacted me most is something I didn’t even fully understand until a later appointment elsewhere. A week later, sitting with another provider who communicated calmly, privately, and collaboratively, I unexpectedly broke down in tears. That moment made me realize how much anxiety, shame, and emotional distress I had been carrying from this experience.
I am sharing this because difficult medical conversations matter, but so does bedside manner. Patients deserve honesty without being made to feel judged, dismissed, or emotionally overwhelmed during an already vulnerable moment.
Edit: Unfortunately, compassion and professionalism were not demonstrated during this appointment. The doctor appeared extremely upset when I requested additional personal space. When staff asked where I should be referred, he responded, “all of them,” and also mentioned refunding me. Afterward, I emailed regarding billing concerns and received no response. While I was in the lobby, he remained in his office and repeatedly looked out to see if I was still there, which gave the impression he was avoiding interaction.
I did nothing inappropriate and said nothing that I believe warranted this treatment. The experience left me feeling uncomfortable and distressed for days.

10 stars would be best! I came here for a gum graft and to be honest, I was very anxious and nervous - I had no idea what was going to happen. From the moment I walked into the office I was enveloped in such kind and caring energy that I knew I was in the right place. Everyone treated me with kindness, respect, professionalism, and almost like family. I am a retired medical office manager so I was familiar with how to care for patients and this wonderful office checked all the boxes. Dr. Daweri was amazing! He and his assistant explained every step and he was very gentle and encouraging. Today I had my stitches removed and, when the doctor says, “Perfect!”, well, you can’t get any better than that. Huge kudos to the front office staff, the assistants, Kristina and Kim, and to Dr. Daweri. You have proven that there ARE great people out there. Thank you!

Service was ok, Dentist promises a lot but if it is not in the contract do not believe them. Got a bill 3 years after I had a procedure there. They took 9 months to run insurance and they never informed me I had a balance. They billed my insurance for cleaning and xrays that I had already done with my regular dentist. The auditor that contacted me said they had quite a few cases where they "forgot" to run insurance and "forgot" to send bills. They have signs posted that money is due at time of service, what I thought was a service that was costing me $800 out of pocket is now costing $3000... 3 years after I had a procedure (Nov 2023)

About Atlantic Periodontics & Implants
Atlantic Periodontics & Implants is a periodontal specialty practice located at 1194 Big Bethel Road, Suite B in Hampton, Virginia. The office focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of gum disease and on dental implant placement, and it describes its approach as combining current technology, highly trained periodontal specialists, and a gentle touch to keep visits comfortable. Services offered under one roof include gum disease therapy, dental implant placement, bone grafting, sinus lifts, crown lengthening, gum grafting, cosmetic periodontal care, biopsy of oral lesions, treatment for jaw joint (temporomandibular) disorders, platelet-rich plasma injections, lip repositioning, wisdom teeth extraction, facial rejuvenation, and intravenous sedation for patients with dental anxiety or complex procedures.
For patients missing one tooth or a full set of teeth, the practice places single implants and performs full arch surgery, including All-On-X fixed teeth supported by four to six implants and implant-supported overdentures. Before any implant is placed, the office takes a three-dimensional X-ray to measure bone height and width and digitally plans the implant position. The practice explains that its surgeons focus on the surgical placement of implants, and that patients return to another dental office for the abutment and final crown, bridge, or denture once the implant has healed. The office is an in-network provider with Delta Dental, accepts CareCredit financing, and is open Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
