I’m writing this review 16 hours after my procedure. I had to have an emergency root canal last night 4/19/2026 around 8:00pm. My husband and I were heading to our home in Pittsburg Texas from our home in Galveston Texas. My tooth and gums had been bothering me lightly for 24 hours before. On the trip down, I started experiencing the worst pain I have had since battling ovarian cancer in 2023. That’s saying a lot. I googled ER Dental Clinic, Longview Texas, and prayed there would be one who could see me on a Sunday night. There was, so I headed to AZ Specialty Emergency Dental Clinic, at 2840 Bill Owen’s Pkwy. I was met by Dr. Zaher. He was so nice and professional. He got to me right away, discovered what I needed done, and completed my root canal within an hour and a half. Every step of the way he explained what he was doing, showing me his progress through x-rays, etc. I have no qualms in recommending him to everyone and anyone for their dental care. I also feel that he is very affordable for the services he provides. I just picked up my prescription's and am looking forward to returning to my old self. Thanks Dr. Zaher.

If I could give him zero stars I would. i came in to have a tooth removed, I was in so much pain, and desperate. This was the only office open. The office was gross, very very dirty and unprofessional. I was quoted $650 for a removal which is very high but due to the pain and the time I was willing to pay it. I gave them my dental insurance but was told he rather do care credit. I paid $700 total because of the mouth wash he charged me that should have been $1.75(that's what it is at Walmart). He almost broke my jaw. I had to physically grab him to make him stop pulling. my jaw locked shut 3 days after this visit. I followed up with my actual dentist 4 days later- because I couldn't open my mouth)who said it was very infected and that he left pieces still in my mouth. my face around the site was bruised. honestly, I just wanted to forget this whole experience. Until today, I get a bill for almost $900 from my dental insurance!!!! He insisted I pay via care credit, then billed the insurance!!! I have contacted my insurance with all the proof. They are going after him at this point and are investigating many other claims he's filed. Per Cigna- he has been flagged for insurance fraud!!!!
DO NOT USE THIS DENTIST!!!!!! HES A FRAUD, DIRTY AND VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!
Also, I see he's making comments on these reviews saying these aren't true. 100 times over. I HAVE PROOF of everything stated. This is very true and I hope others stay away and from fall victim to this man and his "practice"!

I don't understand how this guy to have 4.6 rating. The place is filthy and disgusting. I had to pay $100 up front before he would even look at my tooth. It was a Sunday and I was in extreme pain. He did an x-ray on a filthy machine. Then charged me $ 800 MORE before he would pull the tooth. Another $25 for a "special " mouth wash, I could have gotten at Walmart for a couple $. His website is fake. His office doesn't look like that, at all. I should have walked out, but I had already paid $100. Horrible place. $925 to pull 1 tooth that took only 10 minutes total. Never again. He was also very aggressive and intimidating.

he was super nice to my mom and I. I came in because i had been in pain for over 2 weeks because of a wisdom tooth and i was literally out his office in less than 2 hours with no appointment . It was painless and its only been some hours and yes it is sore but not anywhere near the pain i had before. Very thankful.

Husband needed emergency wisdom tooth removal around 7:30pm, Dr. Zaher got us in for an appointment at 8:30pm same day. He went above and beyond with helping my husband stay calm, taking a bite or two (we are so sorry for that again, you're awesome) and even stayed an hour after closing to complete everything needed for my husband. Thank you so much again and I highly recommend this location! ❤️

About Az Specialty and Emergency Dental
AZ Specialty and Emergency Dental is a family and emergency dental clinic at 2840 Bill Owens Parkway, Suite B in Longview, Texas. The practice describes itself as a place where patients can get a wide range of treatment from a team they already know, with general, restorative and cosmetic dentistry offered under one roof. Services listed on its website include dental implants, crowns, bridges, extractions, root canals, dentures, veneers, Invisalign, pediatric care and emergency dental care. The office is open seven days a week from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM, and the practice emphasizes late and weekend hours so patients can be seen at a time that fits their schedule.
For patients missing teeth, the practice's implant page outlines several options: a single implant for one missing tooth, an implant-secured bridge for several adjacent missing teeth, an implant-secured denture (also called an over-denture) as a more affordable alternative, and a full fixed arch supported by four to eight implants per arch. The practice notes that implant cost depends on the condition of the jaw and gums and says it offers financing to help patients plan for treatment. The office accepts cash and most major credit cards, offers payment plans through CareCredit, and states that it accepts all major insurance. It also welcomes patients with disabilities and invites them to call ahead for any specific assistance they need.
