Dr Durfey is the best!!! I have been going there for about 20 years (admittedly not nearly as often as I should). He is a great Dentist and a great man. Happy to continue making the trip from Farmington for the great care. I have only ever experienced very minimal discomfort there, nearly pain free. Staff are good too. Highly recommend!!!

By the time you reach 60, you have met a few hygienists and doctors, and you realize they are people too — some excellent, some… meh, not so much. I switched to Aztec Family Dental Care over a year ago, and I can unequivocally recommend the practice and the people who work there. Dr. James Durfey, Myra, and Lindsey have all been professional, kind, competent, and easy to trust. I’m very glad I made the switch.

SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!!!!! I cannot say this enough! I brought my 13 year old daughter into this office to get fillings done 6 months ago and was charged an arm and a leg out the door after insurance. WAY more than any other dentist I have ever visited for routine fillings. I thought I was getting top notch dental care for my kid, as she already suffers genetically from having gingivitis. Not was I so wrong for so many reasons. Fast forward 6 months, I moved out of state from New Mexico and took her to a new dentist to get a cleaning and a check up done. FIVE of the fillings that he did at Aztec Family Dental ALL need to be filed down and redone as they all have lips on them. Every one of them has had bacteria and food getting trapped in them for the last 6 months and ALL five have turned into new cavities. One of which is a root canal now due to Dr. James Durfey’s negligence. Not only have I gone to the BBB and filed a complaint, I’ve also submitted a complaint to the licensing board of New Mexico for poor practice. No dentist should charge such insane amounts for backwards dental work. All he did was make things works for my daughters mouth and I hold him directly accountable. Not that the office will do anything to rectify his mistakes in the first place. I’ve already called the office and was just told how sorry they were for our experience, but that there’s nothing they can do to make it right. Worst dentist I’ve ever experienced. And on a side note, EVERY employee in this office is SO INCREDIBLY RUDE. And should never deal with kids. Both of mine were traumatized by this dentist and how rough and unkind he was as a person in general. Always in a hurry and somehow makes you feel like you inconvenience him in his own office. And if you want to know what you’re in for after insurance, the bills speak for themselves. See attached. And do yourself a favor, choose any other dental office!

I wasn't going to leave a review because I'm usually not that person. But after spending an hour in  a dentist chair with very littlec suction struggling and swallowing water just to have the Dentist  jump back and say, don't spit on me. Not sure why.He was being rude and being phony.Nice.They were shorthanded maybe that was the reason but the main concern is I still have pain , my daughter is a retired dental assistant 20 plus years and she could not believe I sit there over an hour with little suction until I had to struggle to swallow , but he did apologize for drowning me Annette eppard

I am so thankful to have found a dentist who could see me when I was in pain. The staff had excellent manners and the Dr. was kind and professional. It was my first visit, but not the last.
