Dr. Todd is amazing. I had a filling yesterday. My mouth and jaw are not sore. The filling doesn't feel like anything. Meaning, I don't feel any difference between my old tooth and the filled tooth. Expert dentistry!! Alicia, the hygienist, is super good at her job. Tanya and Jules handle the front desk and provide superior service. All of the staff are competent!

About Battle Mountain Dental

Battle Mountain Dental is a patient-oriented general dental practice located at 100 Carson Road, Suite 1 in Battle Mountain, Nevada, serving patients in and around Battle Mountain, Winnemucca and Elko. The office offers family dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, sedation dentistry, and dental implants, along with restorative care such as crowns and bridges, dentures, root canals, veneers, teeth whitening, and wisdom teeth treatment. The team works with patients of all ages and aims to bring healthy smiles to its neighbors in this northern Nevada community.

For patients missing teeth, the practice places dental implants, small titanium posts set in the jawbone that fuse over three to six months to act as a new tooth root and are then topped with a custom porcelain crown. The website notes that implants can also be used alongside dentures for added stability, and that the office uses a 3D cone beam scanner to study the mouth and determine whether a patient is a good candidate for implant treatment. For nervous patients, Battle Mountain Dental offers both intravenous sedation and oral conscious sedation, which the practice says can also allow more than one procedure to be completed in a single visit.

Meet the Doctors

The practice is led by Dr. W. Todd Thompson, DMD, whom the website describes as its lead dentist. Dr. Thompson was born and raised in Las Vegas, earned a bachelor's degree in finance from Brigham Young University in 2002, and completed dental school at the UNLV School of Dental Medicine before moving to Battle Mountain, where he has practiced ever since. He emphasizes continuing education and regular training, has served three terms as a Lander County School Board Trustee, and volunteers with his wife on humanitarian dental missions abroad while participating annually in the Smiles for Life campaign for children's charities.
