I was vacationing and had a toothache. Bay Smiles was recommended. I gave them a call and I got an appointment that day! They examined my tooth, gave me options and were not pushy at all. The young man checking me in was very polite, as was all the staff. If I were to move to that area they would be my choice for a dentists office. Amazing team! Quality healthcare around Panama City is not always the easiest to find, but Bay Smile is amazing. I had a small dental emergency and my regular doctor wasn't available. They had me in the same day and were honest, super understanding, and they were phenomenal in getting my treatment coordinated with my regular dentist. If you're looking for a regular dentist, just moved here, etc...I highly recommend!

This is a letter that will be mailed to the office. I am writing to formally express my concern regarding your office’s missed appointment fee policy and how it was applied to my recent visit. I called to reschedule my appointment after receiving an urgent call while I was at work informing me that my husband, who is both a cancer patient and a stroke survivor, had become ill and required immediate transport to the emergency room. As soon as I received that call, I contacted your office to explain the emergency and request a reschedule. I was informed that your policy requires a $60 missed appointment fee, with no flexibility, regardless of circumstances. Given the seriousness of the situation, I found this response disappointing. Ultimately, I made alternative arrangements for my husband’s care and attended the appointment to avoid the fee. During checkout, I observed the receptionist actively calling other patients to reschedule their already-scheduled appointments. This raised a concern about the apparent imbalance in how rescheduling is handled. Patients are penalized financially for emergencies, while the office routinely adjusts appointments as needed without consequence. I believe this policy, as applied, lacks reasonable compassion for medical emergencies and deserves reconsideration. I respectfully request clarification regarding how such situations are evaluated and whether any discretion exists for documented emergencies. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.

Dr. Gangwisch is and has always been completely up front, honest, and the best dentist I have ever been to in my entire life. He is personable, jovial, and an extremely good listener. He has explained everything thoroughly to my own understanding. He is the most conscientious dentist making sure he gets everything exactly as it needs to be. I challenge anyone to find a better dentist. Can't and won't happen.

Bay smile Docs were amazing, let me know exactly what was going on with my teeth and patiently explained what needed doing. I felt very confident that they were saving my teeth, not trying to remove them. The hygienist also was very gentle and thorough. It made me feel very confident they were looking after me.
