One stop shop for everything you need dental! This is a busy office because they are able to take care of all your dental needs! The ladies are fabulous and knowledgeable... Maria and Daniela are super friendly, and each time my family has checked out, the team in back Jessica, Stacia, and Zuly are always on point! The hygienist, Laura is as gentle as they come! Both Dr. Kudzai Chikwava and Donovan Phillips are amazing!
They follow many insurance fee schedules and and help you any way they can with payment financing! These days, dental insurance has extreme limitations and this dental office is here to help you get the smile you want!

I recently moved from Florida and was concerned about finding a good dentist in Dalton. I’m happy to say that my visit to Beautiful Smiles exceeded my expectations. I had a consultation with Dr. Phillips and a yearly deep cleaning with Laura, the hygienist. Both were extremely professional, kind, and thorough.
They took the time to explain each step of the process and created a clear plan for future visits, which I really appreciated. The front office staff was also incredibly friendly and welcoming—they made me feel at ease and treated me like family.
I will definitely be returning and highly recommend this office to anyone looking for quality dental care in the area.

This office is horrible. They billed my insurance, care credit and also took cash from me without doing any services..not to mention they are very rude. Even the workers asked why I would use them..red flags after resting the other reviews it looks like they do this alot. In 2024 they billed my insurance for 7 extractions and then billed my care credit.. They have taken almost 4000.00 from us and I've still got all seven said teeth.. they argued about doing the work until I showed up at the office and they saw I still had them..I was advised in the very beginning by their employee not to use them. I'll be posting where they do and did bill my insurance for procedures that was NEVER done!

Dr C is an actually angel and an artist at what he does! I absolutely love all the staff who work here and with as much as I’ve had to get work done they’ve always been the best of the best to me! I’m still needing more work done and will ALWAYS be having it done here for as long as I live in the area! Slowly but surely they are giving me my smile back! Love yall!

The dentist himself is nice and personable. The staff is HORRIBLE!!! This is a social club so unless you want to catch up on gossip and watch for hours I would find a student dentist. One assistant even pushed back when the dentist told her she was doing the job wrong. Needless to say the filling didn't stay longer than the next day. I will definitely be finding a new dentist.

About Beautiful Smiles by Design
Beautiful Smiles by Design is a family dental practice at 509 South Thornton Avenue in Dalton, Georgia. The Thornton Avenue office was the practice's very first location, and it now operates alongside sister offices in Calhoun, Georgia and Chattanooga, Tennessee. The Dalton office offers preventive, cosmetic, restorative and orthodontic treatment all under one roof, with the stated goal of keeping referrals to a minimum so patients are not driving all over town for additional care. Services include checkups and cleanings, dental x-rays, sealants, fluoride treatments, tooth-colored fillings, crowns, root canal therapy, gum disease treatment, traditional braces, Invisalign, porcelain veneers, teeth whitening, laser dentistry, athletic mouthguards and Botox treatments.
For patients missing teeth, the practice offers dental implants as one of its options to replace a single tooth or multiple teeth. According to the practice, the implant post is surgically placed in the jawbone, and after a healing period the restoration is placed, which may be a crown, bridge, complete denture or partial denture depending on the patient's needs. The practice describes gentle care as central to its philosophy, offers emergency appointments, and has Spanish-speaking staff. The Dalton office is open Monday through Friday, is active in the local community, and sponsors local schools and events including the summer Screen on the Green.
Meet the Doctors
The Dalton office is led by Dr. Kudzai Chikwava, DDS, a general and cosmetic dentist who earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry after graduating summa cum laude in biology from North Carolina Central University. He is trained through the Las Vegas Institute and, according to the practice, completes more than 100 hours of continuing education each year, including courses in implant dentistry, orthodontics, root canal therapy and cosmetic dentistry. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the International Association of Orthodontics and the Northwest Georgia Dental Study Club. A Dalton resident, Dr. Chikwava sponsors the Level Up youth program at the Mack Gaston Community Center and takes part in the practice's annual Give Kids a Smile free dental day.
