Honestly, such a great experience! I previously had a horrible wisdom teeth removal elsewhere, so I was really nervous going into this one. But at Blue Lake Oral Surgery, everything was completely different, in the best way.
My procedure went smoothly, and my recovery was so much easier than I expected. By day 3, I was already feeling so much better. The entire staff was incredibly kind, patient, and helpful from start to finish. They explained everything clearly, checked in on me, and made me feel comfortable the whole time.
I truly had a positive experience here, and I will definitely be recommending this oral surgery office to anyone needing their wisdom teeth removed. Highly impressed and grateful!

I was referred to Dr. Smith from my dentist in Hood River for the removal of a very large Torre that covered the roof of my mouth. I have been a trauma nurse for 40 years. My experience with Dr.Smith both as a patient and a medical professional was top shelf. My dental insurance covered 2/3 of the cost. I had a pretty good idea what my out of pocket expenses were going to be. Dental insurance typically does not cover everything. I had options and chose what worked for me and my family and they were more than willing to work out a plan. I had put this surgery off for years and quite honestly I was anxious about having bone chiseled away on the roof of my mouth. I remember Dr. Smith starting my IV and being sat up to leave. Whole procedure lasted less than 2 hours. Minimal discomfort. Best oral surgery I have ever experienced and I have had many! With gratitude. 馃

Every single person that works at Blue Lake Oral Surgery is incredible! From the receptionist to the doctor and everyone in between. Compassionate, knowledgeable, clean, efficient, and affordable are words I would use to describe my experience.
I was a nervous wreck the day of my surgery and everyone there treated me with nothing but kindness. I hope I never need oral surgery again, but if I do, it will be at Blue Lake Oral Surgery.

I had an amazing experience during my time here! Thank you to ALL the staff, they were welcoming and kind. My post op experience was surprisingly better than expected, I was not in any pain and everything else after went smoothly.

Meet the Doctors
Blue Lake Oral Surgery is led by Dr. Julie Ann Smith, DDS, MD, a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon and a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. She earned her dental degree at Columbia University and completed her oral and maxillofacial surgery residency, medical school, and a year of general surgery at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Smith served as an oral and maxillofacial surgeon in the Army at Walter Reed Army Medical Center from 2001 to 2008, was a faculty member in the oral and maxillofacial surgery department at Oregon Health and Science University until 2016, and served as a commissioner on the Oregon Board of Dentistry from 2011 to 2019. She is a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the practice describes her as having over 20 years of oral surgery and implant experience.
