I had a referral from a local dentist to an Endodontist. I was in severe pain. Blue Ridge Endodontics was able to see me quickly. Dr. Okang was extremely professional and offered excellent explanations for a few treatments options concerning my issues. He answered all of my questions thoroughly and encouraged me during the visit (I am not a huge fan of ANY dental work). Dr. Okang made me fell like I was his only patient and I never once felt “rushed”. I felt extremely at ease while being treated due to all of the staff treating me with thorough explanations and knowledgeable, professional attitudes. All of the staff were immediately welcoming and compassionate during my entire visit. If you are looking for professional, exceptional, and timely treatment I would highly recommend!

I needed a root canal retreatment. The staff and Dr. Okang were all wonderful! Everyone was so nice and explained everything as we were going through the process. As we got into the procedure, Dr. Okang realized a retreatment was not going to be the best fix for my tooth. He stopped the procedure and explained that it would be better for me to have my tooth pulled, and an implant done. He explained that he could do the retreatment, but I would probably be back in 11 months or so to have to have it done again. He gave me the option of what I wanted to do. I appreciated his honesty so much! He could have finished the retreatment and charged me for it, knowing that it was not the best thing for me. Instead he told me the truth and pointed me in the direction that I needed to go. I would recommend Dr. Okang and his staff to anyone. Not only are they honest and do what’s best for their patients, but they are super nice and helpful.

No question they deserve a five star review. Most everybody is afraid of getting a root canal, me included. However, I can promise that I felt no pain after the Novacaine was administered. It was a little freaky, trying to breathe and swallow, but that was just nerves. Dr. Sharma kept reassuring me that I was able to breathe and swallow, and she was right! The entire staff is very kind and gentle. They provide a blanket, a stress ball, your choice of music and a pillow if you like, everything is explained thoroughly and in understandable terms, Dr. Sharma is extremely skilled and gentle. I had two root canals, on consecutive days, and had full faith in the staff. Her assistants, Cymric and Kathy were also very reassuring and kind.

In July I had a root canal done at Blue Ridge Endodontics. Apparently, the customer service representative did not know how to file a pre-authorization with the insurance company because after signing an estimate for the agreed-upon amount, roughly $650, I had the procedure done. Unfortunately when I checked out they informed me they made a mistake checking my insurance and I owed an additional $770 somehow. Worst of all, the work they did resulted in a malpractice suit since the doctor cemented my temporary crown to my underlying tooth, resulting in its fracture and subsequently a failure of three separate crown attempts. Now I will have to have the tooth extracted and attempt an implant. I also lost my sense of taste immediately following this procedure and it has not come back yet as a result of chronic inflammation and instability of that tooth. I am a disabled veteran and a full-time student. My wife and I were barely able to afford the original amount and for them to expect twice that after the work was already done was shocking. While I am sure it was not an intentional bait and switch, the fault is surely on their staff and instead of acknowledging this, the manager called and became verbally intimidating at which point she sent me to collections rather than apologize for the pain and suffering. I have managed several hospitals and have dealt with clients who simply refuse to pay and will blame my doctors frivolously, but this was clearly malpractice and if they had any conscience whatsoever they would have simply apologized and written off the debt. Now I will see them in small claims court. Avoid at all costs! Even if you get everything in writing they can apparently just charge you double when you get out of the procedure. I have attached a photo of the fractured tooth embedded in the temporary crown as a result of their negligence.

Initially I was shocked at the prices of the consultation and services that I needed, but after having the work done I can honestly say that it was all money well spent!! I have had an enormous amount of dental work done in my life and these folks were hands down and far and away the BEST professionals that I have ever been blessed to have work on me!! Everyone and everything here is top-notch, quality beyond comparison, I wish they could be my regular dentist, OMG, what an experience. Seriously, these people ARE AWESOME!!!
