Got us in quick for an emergency visit even though we were not clients of theirs, fit us in and got the job done as day and time. STAFF WAS SO SWEET! MADE US FEEL VERY WELCOMED! RECOMMENDED 10/10

My wife and I both used Dr. Brian Kubo as our dentist for the many years we lived on the Big Island. He seemed competent and knowledgable. However after our move back to the mainland, we were disappointed to find so much of his work substandard. In particular, Dr. Kubo "manufactures" crowns on a machine in his office, instead of sending them out to a dental laboratory. When he did my first crown, he explained that there were not any dental laboratories on the Big Island, and that those on Oahu were too far. We were also told these in-office crowns were of equal quality to lab work. This has turned out to be a complete fabrication. All of Dr. Kubo's had to be replaced on the mainland after they broke in less than five years, which is the minimum replacement time for insurance companies. The dental literature confirms that the in-office crowns are made from much weaker material in order to be milled by these machines. A real, lab-made crown will last ten years or more because they are made of much more robust materials - at similar cost. Using Dr. Kubo has cost us thousands of dollars extra that we, as retirees, didn't have at our discretion. And Hawaiian Dental Service has been complicit in this substandard work fraud as well.

First off I want to say, I have never ever experienced such a positive, friendly, and professional dentist and office staff in all my 57 years! They make you feel so comfortable and relaxed. Dr. Kubo has a great personality and is very patient and explanatory. I am so lucky to have been referred to Dr.Kubo. I've lived on this Island for 22 years and it's hard to find good doctors and ones that truly care about their patients. Dr.Kubo and his staff truly care and I would recommend them to anyone in need of dental care including children, from what I witnessed in the waiting area a 3 young happy children came out! I had my first exam with Dr Kubo today and it was a very comfortable and thorough exam. I was very impressed with Doctor and his entire staff from start to finish. Thank you for making my dental experience such a positive one.

I had the misfortune of breaking a tooth when my regular dentist was on vacation. Dr. Kubo was the referring dentist and within 45 minutes of the incident I was sitting in his chair getting a temporary repair so I would not have to be in pain all weekend! His receptionist is so friendly and welcoming. The office fit me in for a permanent crown after the weekend. His staff were all great and Dr. Kubo did an excellent job.
