I recently had a tooth extraction at this office and developed painful ulcers in my mouth afterward. I called this morning to report this and ask for guidance. The front desk staff told me the ulcers were “probably from stress ” and not related to the procedure, despite the timing. When I asked about treatment or antibiotics, I was told the doctor would have to see me in person and that I’d need to drive an hour to their Cape May Courthouse location. No alternatives or reassurance were offered while I was in pain. I was also surprised by their payment structure. Patients are required to pay large amounts out of pocket ($500–$1,000) and then handle insurance reimbursement themselves. I was told they could submit to insurance for the initial visit or I could pay cash for a lower price, which put me in a difficult position as a patient trying to make the most affordable choice. Between the lack of support and the billing approach, I did not feel prioritized as a patient. I chose to see my own dentist instead and will not be returning to this practice. Dr. Rockford was nice but thats all I can say.

1st I want to say, the surgery Dr loggi performed was flawless, he was great with our daughter. HOWEVER, They performed a 3D as an extra precaution that was not necessary without informing us that most insurance benefits do not cover (per the office manager). I asked her why we were not informed on the day of the scan nor the day of the surgery that we would be responsible for the $500 scan? Basically stated any additional financial issues are basically/vaguely agreed upon with financial paperwork but collected a payment on date of surgery with no further discussion or consumer information about the 3D scan they performed without informed consent. I was sent 2 letters, with no explanation of this additional charge, I called the office 2x for clarity and on the 2nd call spoke to one employee who could NOT Answer as to why we were not asked prior to this scan if we were willing to pay. NO EXPLANATION. I was handed off to the office manager who basically stated we vaguely explain any thing not covered under insurance is our responsibility and that would be OK but we were not asked and she explained it was to double check what the xrays COULD have missed. So we were not given informed consent to a unnecessary service and billed for it. I offered to pay a monthly payment and she demanded double or I'd be taken to court for non payment even after I explained I'm on a fixed budget as a disabled veteran. IN WARNING ..... MAKE SURE TO ASK IF THEY ARE GOING TO USE A DIAGNOSTIC 3D SCAN THAT MAY NOT BE COVERED UNDER YOUR (NOR MOST) INSURANCE BENEFITS. PREDATORY PRACTICES!!!!!

Dr. Loggi was AMAZING! He was very helpful, kind, and had a good sense of humor, especially since my boyfriend was nervous about getting his wisdom teeth removed. He was just very personable, the nurses were also super kind and helpful, they definitely made it an easy process. and we were able to get in and out for the appointments. Overall great experience. Can’t say anything bad

Got my two bottom wisdom teeth removed here, had an amazing experience. I have a fear of needles and cried when I went under with an IV, yet the doctors were very kind and patient with me. Felt no pain at all after the procedure. Thank you so much to everyone there. Keep up the great work! 💙

About Cape Atlantic Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (marmora)

Cape Atlantic Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery is an oral surgery practice with two offices in southern New Jersey, one in Cape May Court House and this one at 42 Roosevelt Boulevard in Marmora, in Upper Township. The practice describes itself as having served the South Jersey community for over 35 years and offers the full range of oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures. Dental implants and bone grafting are a central part of the practice, including socket preservation, ridge augmentation and sinus lift procedures, along with wisdom tooth removal, extractions, impacted canine exposure, oral pathology, facial trauma care, pre-prosthetic surgery, and Botox Cosmetic. The site notes that implant treatment is a team effort: the surgeons place the implants, perform any extractions and bone grafting, and a patient's own restorative dentist makes the final replacement teeth.

For patients considering implants, the practice explains both the traditional two-stage approach and single-stage implants, and notes that in some cases an implant can be placed at the same time as a tooth extraction. The offices use i-CAT cone beam three-dimensional scanning and computer-based virtual implant planning, which the practice says helps with accuracy and can allow minimally invasive implant placement. Intravenous sedation and general anesthesia are offered in the office, with staff trained to assist with anesthesia and monitor patients during and after surgery. The practice serves patients from Marmora, Cape May Court House, Ocean City, Mays Landing, Wildwood, Northfield, Egg Harbor Township, Linwood and Galloway, and offers online patient registration ahead of a first visit.
