I started the process to bring my teeth back into order after decades of avoiding dental repair. I am so lucky to have found Capitol City Dental as their staff - everyone from the person who first helped me when I called to the dental technicians and the dentist - have been kind, professional, detail oriented, and offer a high level of patient centered care. For those who fear dental care, this is the place for you. I’ve been incredibly impressed with the actual dental work as the dentist spends lots of time making sure each of the procedures is done well.

Office runs on time and is a comfortable space. Hygienist worked fast and did not leave me with sore gums. Dentist was very knowledgeable and had a kind approach. I've been a client for many years and cannot imagine going anywhere else

If I could give this place zero stars I would. Avoid at all costs. I had the great fortune of having a truly wonderful dentist for over 20 years. The only reason I had to find a new dentist is because our family dentist passed away. Here’s my experience with Capital City Dental. They told my daughter she had six cavities. We filled three…but because she lives in NYC we had her see the dentists at her school (NYC) for the rest. Several X-rays, multiple tests, and three dental professors later, they told her she did not have any cavities and that the dentist in Sacramento had filled the natural divots of her teeth. They told me I needed a crown. At this point I haven’t gotten a second opinion because it’s too late for that. They had a 23 year old hygienist place the temporary crown and she did a terrible job. She wasn’t paying attention…she was carrying on a conversation with her 20-ish year old colleague the entire time. How do I know their ages? Because they were chatting nonstop about their personal lives and dating issues across the partition (which only partially separates the dental chairs from one another) the entire time. She also bumped my front teeth with the dental tools while working on my back tooth (crown) which really hurt. When I told her this she denied it. She told me if the temporary crown was off, to come in for a quick 5-minute appointment to get it fixed. The bite WAS off, and I was in incredible pain and couldn’t chew on that side. When I called to get in for a five minute appointment to fix the bite, one of the other 20 year olds at the front desk said they couldn’t fit me into the schedule. When I finally came in for the permanent placement of the crown, the dentist spent two hours fixing the bite on the crown and the filling she did right next to the crown. It’s two weeks later and I still can’t chew on that side of my mouth. I’m still in incredible pain. I’m also difficult to numb, but I have never had an issue with being numb more than a few hours even with an extra shot. For both appointments, I was numb from 9am - 4:30-5pm and in an incredible amount of pain once the numbing wore off. They also continually try to upsell everyone in our household on a deep cleaning. They told my boyfriend he could use a water pick for a while to see if that helped, and they’d re-assess. He did not use a water pick but they’d found “significant improvement” between visits. A close friend is a hygienist in LA and she said they are explicitly told to upsell people on deep cleanings at some offices. I assume Capital City Dental operates this way. What a scam. I have asked repeatedly for our files so we can find another dentist, and they still haven’t emailed me the files after promising to do so nearly two weeks ago. This place sucks. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

Love this dentist! I came for a very deep cavity that could have needed a root canal. I’m also 15 weeks pregnant and was very nervous. The whole procedure only took about 40 minutes and it was pain free! Even the shot. She also saved me from needing a root canal. Thank you!!!

This is long overdue, just like what I needed done. I have received top tier dental care and hospitality at Cap City Dental way more than once and this year was a lot. It doesn't matter what the work is I walk away with a smile.
