DR Mike and Dr Mike our Great Dentists. They are knowledgeable, friendly and resourceful in their practice!! Dr Schafhauser has been my family's dentist since he started his practice and all of my children still come back for their dental work. I had a great experience at this office! I easily got an appointment for the next day. The staff were friendly, and I didn't have to wait long. They worked well together and explained everything clearly. The office was clean and modern. And to top it off, they even gave me a gift! I'm very happy with my visit and give them 5 stars. I highly recommend them!

I have been going to Capital dental for as long as I can remember! Dr. Schafhauser and his team are dedicated to their clients, they work so hard to make every patient happy! Maria is my hygienist and she makes me feel so comfortable and taken care of every single time I visit. I highly recommend Capital Dental for all your general dental and dental emergency needs.

I visited the office today for a cleaning. The kind and caring staff made my visit comfortable. They discussed my treatment with me and explained why I needed X-rays and what my insurance would cover. Everyone is very friendly and I appreciate the time they took with me. Many offices nowadays focus on pushing people through to make money, Dr. Schafhauser and Maria provided great care!

I went as a first time client a few months ago. The staffs were nice and I received a gift basket from them. I rescheduled my appointments due to my busy hours and when I called the clinic 45 minutes before my appointment due to waking up late and they have a 10 minutes late policy. The front desk receptionist named Sue had an attitude saying “If you’re going to make an appointment, you have to keep it.” Is it not rude to call to reschedule rather than not showing up at all? I would rather not be where I’m not welcomed.

Capitol Dental Center is located in the heart of downtown St. Paul, Minnesota, where it cares for patients from across the Twin Cities and surrounding suburbs. The practice was founded by Dr. Schafhauser in 1979 immediately after he graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, and it reports more than 40 years of experience in dental care. It was first located in the Lowry Medical Arts building, later moved to the corner of 6th and Wabasha, and relocated to Town Square in 2022. New patients are asked to plan about 90 minutes for a first visit, which includes any needed x-rays, a thorough gum exam, a cleaning when possible, and a conversation with one of the doctors about oral health going forward. Dr. Michael Schafhauser, DDS, founded Capitol Dental Center in 1979 and has practiced dentistry in downtown St. Paul ever since. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Minnesota in 1975 and his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 1979. He is a former president and current member of the Minnesota Dental Association, a member of the American Dental Association and the St. Paul District Dental Society, and a clinical instructor at the University of Minnesota. He is also a member of the Pierre Fauchard Academy, an inductee of the American College of Dentists and the College of Dentistry International, participates in the Donated Dental Services program, and is a dentist on staff at St. John's Hospital.
