So, I would love to give 5 stars because Dr Arauz was exceptional! However, I have Tricare & not once was it mentioned to me they were out of network.Even when I scheduled I questioned why I had to pay for the visit out of pocket, I was simply told "thats just how we do it. We choose to submit to insurance after its paid for" I did my research after my initial appointment @300.00 - I called United Cordia - confirmed the provider is out of network and reviewed all codes provided for the update coming procedure- most of the codes were well over what is allowed by my insurance and the rest were not covered at all. Total upfront out of pocket would have been close to 4,000 & if insurance approved the reimbursement would be around 800. That is a huge out of pocket expense! I will say Dr Arauz is very professional, wonderful bedside manor, excellent at explaining everything in detail. He listens and understands the patient! I wish he was in network! Truly one of the best experiences Ive had.

I recently had crown lengthening done, and I could not be happier with the results! From start to finish, my periodontist was incredibly skilled, gentle, and attentive. The procedure went smoothly, and the healing process was easier than I expected.
But the best part? I’m absolutely in love with my smile now. The difference is amazing — my teeth look more balanced, and I finally feel confident showing my smile in photos. I’m so grateful for the care and precision that went into the treatment.
If you’re considering crown lengthening or any periodontal work, I highly recommend this office. The experience was truly life-changing!

I only have the most positive things to say about Dr. Arauz and his wonderful staff!! I was extremely nervous and scared at first but Dr. Arauz, Lulu, Tabitha and Juan took the best care of me from the consult to the procedure! If you too are feeling anxious about dental work don't hesitate at all to come to Carolina Dental Specialty Center! I guarantee you will receive excellent care in the kindest most inviting environment!

I recently had a tooth pulled by Dr. Arauz. He and his entire staff are very helpful and caring. I have a total hip replacement in less than two weeks, and he knew I needed this tooth pulled that day, so I would not have any infection before my hip surgery. He stayed past closing for that day to work on my tooth.

My dentist (Crystal Coast Dentistry) referred me to Carolina Dental Specialty Center last April stressing the urgent importance of having a graft and oral surgery to add to the gum tissue for 4 teeth (2 upper, 2 lower). According to the dentists, the lower teeth were more severe. The quote for the procedure for just the lower teeth was $6,500. I was told that Carolina Dental Specialty Center would submit the insurance claim on my behalf, but that I would need to pay upfront. I was given the procedure codes and I contacted my insurance company before the procedure to find out how much I could anticipate to receive in reimbursement after the procedure. I was quoted with $4,000. After 10 months of dealing with MetLIfe and sending more and more documentation the claim was denied because MetLife said the severity of the condition did NOT warrant treatment. I am furious! I feel like I was betrayed and lied to. I was told I was risking tooth loss if I didn't have the procedure, yet insurance won't even cover it because apparently it wasn't that severe. Before you have any procedures done and pay out of pocket I would highly recommend getting a second opinion!!!!
