Excellence in every aspect. No wait. Staff friendly, prompt, and professional. Immediate thorough oral evaluation and assessment of xrays. Thorough discussion of pros and cons of treatment options was presented. Painless blocks and surgery were given. A professional assistant assisted Dr Bishop. Excellent postop instructions were given. I did not require any pain medications. This office presents top notch care with experienced surgical excellence. I highly recommend without reservations. Thomas VonGillern, MD

Before I say anything in my review, I want to be very clear that the public needs to be careful about the words they choose and working with the public in sales and customer service for over a decade, I can tell you unequivocally, the customer is almost always wrong. However, I also think it’s important for potential clients to make educated decisions on who they choose, especially since periodontal work is often major oral surgery, expensive, and many experience anxiety about seeing a Doctor for oral care. The reality is Dr. Bishop has been in business for many years and (online at least,) the majority have had a great experience. So, even I need to acknowledge my experience isn’t the majority. However, after reading some reviews, the parallels are there. 1) Yes, Dr. Bishop has a generally kind and calm demeanor. The initial consultation was great. 2) The great communication from the initial consult is where it stops. 3) I had gum grafting done several months ago. The surgery took 2-3 hours and while it wasn’t the most comfortable, what do you expect? It’s oral surgery! 4) I was given a piece of paper explaining things I needed to know for after care…what to expect, etc. but it wasn’t thorough at all. I called back, based on the amount of blood in my mouth and how swollen it was. I asked if I should take more than two days off work? It took almost two days for them to call back and say I may want to take more time. They saw how swollen I was and insisted when I left, that a day or two was enough time to heal and go back to work. What?!!! No. 5) By my second follow-up, Dr. was already talking about another surgery she originally agreed wasn’t critical and after she knew I maxed my dental insurance for the year. When I said I didn’t want to do it for a year or two, the relationship clearly changed with the office. I believe it was also the second follow-up that I paid several hundreds of dollars, (in addition to the HALF I paid for the out of pocket costs, when I asked how long I had to pay the remaining balance? The front desk person didn’t have a clue. I was finally told by another assistant I had a year or so, as long as I’m making payments "in good faith,“ I would be good with no interest or penalties. 6) For my follow-up this past Spring, I asked to have x-rays that my dentist requested, but Dr. told me three months wasn’t enough time to say how long the healing process would take. What…3 months later?? 7) Fast forward to today, I had an appointment I had to reschedule because apparently she was out of town. I arrive even though I called 2 or 3 times to confirm the date and time this week and earlier today. I was told by the NEW front desk person, the appointment was cancelled because the office sent it to collections. I asked when? Person said, December. Didn’t get a call and I never received a letter that mentioned it. Last one I received talked about additional fees (that were never discussed by the way.) Now, was my December date actually rescheduled for a good reason? Maybe. Did the Dr. not want to provide service they didn’t think she’d get paid for? Wouldn’t surprise me unfortunately. Could they have mentioned this at my visit in July? Yup. There are many other things I could say that happened due to some of the worst staff turnover I’ve ever seen in a medical office, gross miscommunication, and blatant rudeness. Bottom line: I can WITHOUT a doubt say, I never saw the same two staff people at the front desk and I’m pretty sure there was a new dental assistant trained at each of my appointments. Now, does that mean Dr. Bishop is the worst person ever? No. What it does call into question is her ability to lead an informed staff where everyone is on the same page. You won’t find that here. I cannot recommend.

I went to Dr. Bishop 4 years ago where she told me to remove my front teeth due to bone loss as she stated it was the best option. However, I knew this was not possible and decided to get a second opinion. I went to 2 other dentists/periodontist that told me this was absolutely not an option & If I would have listened to her advice it would be much worse. 5 years later my teeth are healthy and stable!! Please be careful and be sure to always get another option.

Dr Bishop is truly the best. I had 3 gum surgeries and were all successful! Dr Bishop explained every step of the process and put me at ease with every surgery with little to no complications or discomfort. I had to see for a small lump under my tongue and it was really bothering me mentally, so she got me in the same day for an emergency appointment and put my mind at ease. I can’t say enough how grateful I am for Dr Bishop and her staff! Greg

I was in contact with three individuals in Dr Bishop’s office on the day of my appointment. The young lady at the front counter was very pleasant and kept me informed of my scheduled time and visit. An X-ray technician led me to an exam room and took several X-rays. She was very efficient and very pleasant as she worked. She gave me a very complete picture of what would take place after my X-rays. Dr Bishop’s then entered and checked my teeth very thoroughly and explained her concerns based on the pictures and her examination. She was very pleasant, but very straightforward in her observations. She presented various avenues of treatment and spent extra time making sure I was clear on the choices and encouraged me to ask questions. I was very impressed with her willingness to spend time discussing my options and I never felt rushed or was afraid to ask questions. Her experience and knowledge was impressive and I am fortunate to have Dr Bishop dealing with my dental needs.
