This is the exception to the reviews on here.
Following a 4 week prep appointment, I had a permanent crown delivered on tooth 19. Within hours this delivery left me in intense pain and swelling. I called in (as would be expected) and was told to take Tylenol and call back on day 3.
I called back on day 3, asking to have the tooth adjusted, but that I couldn't handle any further injection, due to the pain and swelling.
I was told to wait a week- that was it. There was no recommendation for an antibiotic or to be seen for the swelling. Since indicating my tooth felt high, I did not understand how banging on it for an additional "week” would improve the swelling or the pain.
Rather than having a problem, I was treated like I was a problem.
Day 4, due to the pain and swelling I found an emergency dentist. I was then given a prescription for antibiotics, for infection.
Re statements- I emailed Dr. Hiersche's office for a full accounting of my debits and credits, since I never got a monthly statement – this may be because I always overpaid.
Update: a little over 2 months have passed- after having the crown lengthening and prep appointment (early March), and the new crown replacement appointment (late March), the tooth is loose.
Went to an endodontist for evaluation. Tooth (with the new crown) needs to be extracted. My choices are after the extraction is done; I can either gum my food on my left side, an implant, or a partial for the back molar.

Such a cute office with friendly staff. Dr. Hiersche (pronounced Hershey like the chocolate) is both gentle and knowledgeable. The office is located in a cute area of downtown and has an adjacent parking lot with reserved parking for patients. I would highly recommend this office to anyone looking for a dentist in the area.

Doctor Heirsche is the most compassionate and capable dentist we have ever seen. He gives his patients a full briefing on the work he proposes and presents all options. He has state of the art equipment. We love him and his entire staff!

Everyone at this office is wonderful. Julie is very good at keeping all things in order and I’m grateful for her. The Dr is by far the most thorough dentist I’ve ever been to. He pays attention to detail . I feel very lucky to have found this office. They are kind and professional.

Super impressed with this office, first visit & I didnt even have to sit in the waiting room! Was pulled right back and we got right down to business. Also the location and office is beyond beautiful, the receptionist and office staff are super kind & I felt as though I was truly being heard about my tooth pain.

Meet the Doctors
Chico Dental Design Studio is led by Michael Hiersche, DDS. Before dentistry, Dr. Hiersche earned a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from California State Polytechnic University in 2003 and spent four years as an engineer and scientist with the Boeing Company, where he is credited with two patents. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Loma Linda University School of Dentistry in 2011 with a Doctorate in Dental Surgery, then completed a General Practice Residency at the Jesse Brown Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Chicago and practiced at the Feather River Health Center in Paradise, California. In 2016 he purchased the practice of retiring Chico dentist William Moon, DDS, and launched Chico Dental Design Studio in 2017. Dr. Hiersche is a graduate of the Kois Center in Seattle, a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, and completed the Implant Foundation course at the gIDE Institute in Los Angeles for placing dental implants. He has volunteered with Clinic with a Heart and Careers in Dentistry and has taken dental mission trips to Romania and Nicaragua.
