My 80+ year old handy caped wife had a tooth fracture on a Thur. night. On Fryday my daughter's dentists looked at the tooth and said the tooth needs to be extracted. They set up an appointment for that day for an evaluation at COLO WEST. The staff was as helpful as they could be (all the required paperwork, etc.) The doctor looked at the x-rays and agreed that the tooth needed to come out. With the expectation of a LONG and miserable weekend ahead of us, you can imagine our surprise when the Dr. asked if we would like him to pull the tooth then (remember this is late Friday afternoon). The extraction took no time at all and we have had no complications to date. To say that the staff and Dr. were competent, friendly, professional, and accommodating would be an understatement.
If you are in the unfortunate need of dental surgery, seriously consider Colorado West.

This is a great place. I needed an implant and scheduling the appointment was easy. The staff was wonderful aT explaining the portion my insurance would cover, as well information for pre care and after care. Dr Reece, and his staff, made me feel at ease during the procedure. I highly recommend Colorado West Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

I am amazed. I was so nervous to get my 2 dental implants. It is the next day, numbing has mostly worn off and I have no pain! I've had more pain from the shots alone when the numbing wears off with basic dental work. Thank you Dr. Gray! I'll be seeing you for my next implants and I won't be scared next time. It really means a lot.

It does not get any better than Dr. Reece and his staff. His “bedside manner” is great. He has a sense of humor. He is very skilled with his hands. He is smart. And I love this part of the thorough instructions I was given, “Common sense will often dictate what you should do”.

About Colorado West Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Colorado West Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery is an oral surgery practice located at 2530 North 8th Street, Suite 103, in Grand Junction, Colorado, serving patients across the Western Slope. The practice focuses on dental implants, tooth extractions, wisdom teeth removal, bone grafting, facial trauma care, and corrective jaw surgery. For patients considering dental implants, the surgeons place titanium implant posts that fuse to the jawbone and serve as a stable foundation for replacement teeth, and they offer bone grafting for patients whose jawbone needs rebuilding before implants can be placed.
The practice is owned by oral and maxillofacial surgeon Dr. D. Cameron Reece, and the surgical team also includes Dr. Jesse L. Gray, who joined in 2025. In addition to the main Grand Junction office, the practice sees patients at a satellite office in Carbondale, Colorado every Thursday, which can be a convenient option for patients in the Roaring Fork Valley. The office is open Monday through Thursday from 8:00 in the morning to 4:30 in the afternoon and Friday from 8:00 in the morning to 3:00 in the afternoon, and appointments for either location can be scheduled by calling the Grand Junction office.
