Dr. Daren Praetzel is compassionate, kind and a very talented physician. He and his staff were the ultimate professionals when asked to “work-in” my 92 year old mother who needed a tooth pulled. He explained in a kind and patient manner what he was going to do and made sure my mother felt comfortable before he began. My mother and I were surprised by his generosity. Will not work with you on payments even if you have insurance. They don’t tell you this till you’re sitting in the chair. Dr. Pretzel was also very rough getting the tooth out. He also talked badly about the other dentist who tired everything he could to help me but ended up having to send me to him. Insurance person was also rude and explained nothing so I had to call my insurance and figure things out immediately after leaving the office while in pain and trying to avoid talking to much to give my body time to form a clot.

Arkansas Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons is an oral surgery practice on McAuley Court in Hot Springs, Arkansas, serving patients from Hot Springs, Hot Springs Village, Malvern, Arkadelphia, Pine Bluff and DeQueen. Dental implants are a core part of the practice. The team places implants to replace a single missing tooth, treats patients who are missing all of their upper or lower teeth, and offers implant supported overdentures, Teeth-in-an-Hour, and zygomatic implants for patients with significant bone loss. Because healthy jawbone matters for implant success, the practice also provides bone grafting for implants, including ridge augmentation, sinus lifts, and socket preservation.
The surgeons work closely with referring general dentists in Hot Springs and the surrounding area, using CT scans and computer guided surgery to plan implant placement while the patient's dentist handles the final restoration. Meet the Doctors
The practice's surgical team includes Dr. Daron C. Praetzel, DMD, and Dr. Aaron B. Baldwin, DMD, MD. Dr. Praetzel is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon who earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Pittsburgh and completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at Wilford Hall Medical Center at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. He served thirteen years as an active duty surgeon with the U.S. Air Force, deployed to Iraq as a facial trauma surgeon, and currently holds the rank of Colonel in the Air Force Reserves. He is board certified by both the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the American Board of Facial Cosmetic Surgeons, is a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, and founded the Hot Springs Study Club, which provides continuing education for local dentists and their teams. Dr. Baldwin is a Hot Springs native who completed dental school at the University of Louisville and then earned his medical degree and completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at the University of Kentucky, where he served as chief resident. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, one of a small number of dual degree oral surgeons in Arkansas, and focuses on corrective jaw surgery, facial trauma and reconstruction, tooth removal, and dental implants. He also serves on the facial trauma and reconstruction team at CHI St. Vincent Hospital and is president of the Arkansas State Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
