DO NOT GO HERE THEY WILL INFORM YOU OF WRONG INFORMATION MAKE MISTAKES THEN DEMAND MONEY FROM YOU AFTER THEIR FREQUENTLY MADE MISTAKES AS WE SPEAK THEY ARE TRYING TO TAKE MONEY FROM ME AFTER ASSURING ME I HAVE NO REMAINING BALANCE 3 MONTHS LATER!!! NOT TO MENTION THEY WILL PROVIDE A SERVICE TELLING YOU IT IS FREE BUT THEN CHARGE YOU FOR IT! & a week before thanksgiving!
I came here for my root canal a caping a filling and a cleaning. I gave all the correct information but yet their front desk associates messed it up and put the wrong person as the primary insurance holder. This office referred me to to the people i got my root canal done by they had all the information of my procedure i asked them AFTER that procedure to run an estimate through my insurance i needed an estimate before going forward with this procedure. They ran an estimate and told me it went through as a little over $700 dollars after the procedure i was given an amount over $700 (was 740 something) i paid that upfront for my caping!!! Then paid another $400 on top of that upfront as i was told that was the remainder that i owed!!. Then my cleaning was done it was fully covered then after was a cavity filing. Not only did doctor Denison HIT MY NERVE TWICE CAUSING ME SEVERE PAIN HE GAVE ME AN UNMARKED BAG OF 500 MG OF IBUPROFEN AFTER THE VISIT FOR THE PAIN HE CAUSED ME!!!! After the filling i paid $35 and was told i was good to go with NO REMAINING BALANCES! Well fast forward a month later i am getting an email saying i owe an extra $900 dollars then i am told “i gave them wrong information” when i did not they had all my information and was well aware of who the primary holder of my insurance was! Now they are demanding $871.20 to be exact on top of the 1k plus i already paid to them!!!! I asked several times before my procedures i was told the estimates could go down or up but would be nothing crazy over $100 well that was a LIE! And one of many!!! STAY CLEAR OF THIS PLACE!!! I hope no one has to go through what i have had to go through with my short experience at this facility. The whole place is trash even looks old & dirty.
Update called insurance! THEY BILLED MY INSURANCE WRONG 2 TIMES WITH MULTIPLE DUPLICATES!! Insane work! & here i am having to GO BACK AND FORTH WITH THESE PEOPLE FOR THEM TO FIX THEIR MISTAKES! Absolutely ridiculous.

Best dental experience I have had in my 37 years. Admin staff was friendly and helpful. My hygienist, Karen, explained every aspect of the cleaning to me. I got my teeth cleaned while learning things I did not know about oral/dental health. Dr. Denison is probably the nicest dentist I have ever met. Very humble and down to earth. You can tell you loves what he does, and that his practice employees people who love what they do.

Dr. Denison’s office was neat and clean and he was extremely professional and answered all of my questions about my dental health. His assistant Bree was absolutely AMAZING 🤩 I literally almost fell asleep during my cleaning. It felt like I was getting a massage for my teeth and gums 🦷 ☺️ Best dentist visit without a question!

We stumbled upon Dr. Denison when the dental insurance we had many years ago, had very few dentists in our area, and those we tried, were severely lacking. We complained, and the insurance company hooked us up with Dr Denison, and for at least twenty years, we’ve stayed. He and his staff are always friendly, professional and do their utmost to work with their clients. His office is supplied with up to date equipment and is always clean and sterile, yet you feel at home sitting in that chair. But alas, good things don’t last forever, we are moving out of state and can’t take him and his staff with us…if I’m fortunate, there will be another office, staff, and dentist just as good, but somehow I doubt it. To Dr Denison, thank you. This last visit today, you went above and beyond to see to it that my needs were met. Even arranging staff to stay past working hours to fit me in…to Karen (my usual hygienist) and Rachel (my husband’s hygienist) a sincere thank you for doing what you do best, and you do it well. To Shelby, Tammy and Diamond, and all the assistants (I apologize for not getting your names), always helpful, cheerful and professional. In all these years, I have yet to met anyone from this office who isn’t in a cheerful mood. This staff is golden! Thank you all!

I've been coming to Dr. Denison for over 10 years all the way from Smithfield. He is really personable and gentle. That's important to me. His staff is outstanding and friendly. The front desk ladies are so helpful, kind, and thorough if you have questions in billing, and they will set your appointment at your convenience.
I really like how you aren't waiting for a long time to be seen. You check in and are immediately called soon after.
I really liked my dental hygienist, Brienne. She was awesome and helpful, and I was very happy with my routine cleaning because I usually see Rachel.
This definitely gets 5 stars because of how they provide great care with their patients. This is why I keep coming back.

About Denison Family and Cosmetic Dentistry
Denison Family and Cosmetic Dentistry is a general dental practice in Newport News, Virginia, offering a full range of dental services including preventive care, cosmetic dentistry, dentures, and sleep apnea treatment. For patients missing one or more teeth, the practice offers dental implants as part of its surgical dentistry services, along with simple extractions, dental bridges, and root canal therapy. Implants are described as artificial tooth roots that are surgically placed in the jawbone to provide a permanent base for fixed replacement teeth.
According to the practice, dental implants can last a lifetime with proper care, though the crown or prosthetic portion may need replacement every ten to fifteen years due to wear. Implant surgery is typically performed under local anesthesia or sedation, and the practice notes that mild discomfort or swelling afterward can usually be managed with over-the-counter pain medication. Patients considering implants can request a consultation to discuss whether the procedure is a good fit for their needs.
