Going to the dentist can suck. But this place made me appreciate it on a level I have not ever come close to in my life. Kind, knowledgeable, and excellent communication makes for an experience I grew an appreciation for that I never thought I would. Highly recommend 馃檹

Very thorough cleaning ands check up. I like that the dentist is providing great customer service and a very nice down to earth personality. My Hygienist was very thorough and respectful to help keep the environment clean. I loved that she was able to share stories and it helped to pass the time.

It's always a fun visit, catching up with the team. This month's visit was for my cleaning. I have Erin as my Hygienist and wow she is good. Look at how gorgeous my teeth are now!

Downtown Dental is a family dental practice located at 71 East 2nd Street in downtown Winona, Minnesota. The practice describes itself as dedicated to providing a welcoming environment for every patient, with a team that focuses on building trust, delivering high-quality care, and making sure patients feel comfortable at every step. Services offered under one roof include cleanings and preventive care, fillings and restorative dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, orthodontics, extractions, emergency dental care, dentures and partials, and dental implants. The office is currently accepting new patients.
For patients considering dental implants, the practice explains that treatment happens in two phases. The surgical phase, placing the implant post into the jawbone, is performed by a trained oral surgeon, who also determines at a consultation whether a patient is a candidate. The restoration phase, measuring and taking impressions to build the parts that attach to the implant, can be completed by the dentist at Downtown Dental. Depending on the situation, an implant can support a single crown to replace one tooth, or several implants can be placed to support a full denture. The practice notes that implants take several months to complete while the bone heals around the post, a process called osseointegration. Office hours are Monday through Wednesday 7:30am to 4:30pm and Thursday 7:30am to 1:00pm.
Downtown Dental is led by Dr. Kyle Coon, DDS. Dr. Coon grew up in Boscobel, Wisconsin, and earned his undergraduate degree in Cell and Molecular Biology at Winona State University before completing his Doctor of Dental Surgery at Marquette University School of Dentistry. While there, he received the General Dentist of the Year award presented by the Academy of General Dentistry, given to the top student in the graduating class for interest, knowledge, and proficiency in general dentistry. He enjoys all aspects of family care and has a special interest in orthodontics and implant dentistry.
