As a rule, like most people, I don't like going to the dentist but this visit was different. Dr. Portalatin was friendly and explained exactly what was going to be done. His assistant, Jasmine put me at ease and helped me get through the procedure. I am glad that I chose downtown dental for my care.

Love Downtown Dental Jax so much. Hygienists and Dentists are all very professional, friendly and thorough at what they do. The ladies at the front desk are also nice. Easy to make or reschedule appointments. The office is very clean. From their old location to their new, my husband and I have been very satisfied patients. We have Dr. Portalatin whoâs very kind and definitely takes care of his patients.

Very friendly staff and attention to details in the space itself made me feel comfortable and at ease. They communicated what was going to happen and didnât pressure me with add ons or up sells like a previous dentistâs office. 10/10- highly recommend!

Downtown Dental Jax is located right in the heart of downtown Jacksonville, Florida, on East Bay Street, making it a convenient stop for patients working or living in the urban core. The practice offers a full range of dental implant options, from single tooth replacements to implant supported dentures and full arch, All on 4 style solutions for patients missing most or all of their teeth. Beyond implants, the office also provides general dentistry, preventive care, Invisalign clear aligner treatment, dentures, and same day emergency dental care for problems like cracked teeth or sudden tooth pain.
Patients considering dental implants can expect the team to walk through the process step by step, since a single implant typically takes about thirty minutes to an hour to place and multiple implants take a few hours, often with local anesthetic and options like nitrous oxide for comfort. The goal is to give patients a replacement tooth that looks, feels, and functions like a natural tooth again. With a team that combines general dentistry training with additional education in areas like hospital dentistry and public health, Downtown Dental Jax positions itself as a full service option for anyone in the Jacksonville area exploring implant supported tooth replacement.
Downtown Dental Jax is staffed by two general dentists. Dr. Andrew L. Witten, DMD, earned his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the University of Florida College of Dentistry in Gainesville, Florida. Dr. Eric Portalatin, DMD, earned his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from LECOM School of Dental Medicine in Bradenton, Florida, holds a Master of Public Health and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Florida, and completed a Certificate in Hospital Dentistry at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
