Dr. Brokloff is the best. Explains everything before doing it. Up to date with the newest medical care. Very little pain involved.

Do not come here if you have anxiety about dental work and expect more than a pat on the back and a pep talk as premeds. My first visit with Dr Brokloff was when I was a teenager and needed my wisdom teeth out in 2017. They removed 3, but left the 4th because it was beginning to grow over either side of the nerve and they didn’t “want to bother it unless it becomes a problem down the road”. Sure, understandable at the time. I was sedated, but began to wake up and feel pain during this procedure and could only let out a whimper before the nurse cursed, told Dr Brokloff that I was waking up, and he told her to push more propofol and stuck the lidocaine needle back into my gums before the propofol was administered. Come 2025, the tooth has been erupted for a year and has become the aforementioned “problem down the road”, causing pain and endangering the adjacent molar. This led to my primary dentist, Dr Sailaja G. Reddy, to refer me to Dr Brokloff for my surgery because I requested anesthesia/sedation for the procedure due to my poor previous experience and that their clinic specifically had the capability to administer IV sedative medications. Repressing my anxieties about my previous visit, I booked the consultation with him. When I met with him I was visibly anxious and he bluntly told me that he’d need to pull both my wisdom tooth and the healthy molar next to it, with no further explanation other than it needed to be done. It seemed that bedside manner was an afterthought. When I began crying, he apathetically asked me what my concerns for the procedure were and basically answered “I’ve been doing this for a long time” to any of my valid concerns (i.e. my face being paralyzed since years have passed and my wisdom tooth roots had now fully enveloped the nerve on either side). My primary dentist, Dr Reddy, also recommended that I get a 3D X-Ray at Dr Brokloff’s office to visualize my nerve from all angles before attempting to remove the tooth, to which he insisted he didn’t need. When I iterated my concerns about this, he said that he could do the X-ray “if you really want” but that it wouldn’t change his plan and that it’d be easier to just pull both teeth. I reluctantly obliged to their plan. When I arrived for surgery I was told that I would actually NOT be sedated for this procedure, nor offered gas or any type of sedative despite my extensive conversations with both Dr Brokloff and my primary dentist about my dental anxiety after a painful prior experience at this office for my first wisdom teeth extraction. When I began to panic and cry, the nurse (African American, hair pulled into a bun) tried to scare me into submission by telling me that “it you keep crying he won’t do your surgery”. I sobbed throughout my procedure as they sawed my tooth half and ripped out my healthy molar and my fully-formed, impacted wisdom tooth while I was completely awake. I was told the prescription medication I took beforehand that required me to have a driver to the surgery was “only meant to relax your jaw”, and that it “wasn’t meant to manage anxiety”. Reflecting on the following events, I truly wish I would’ve gotten a second opinion, as I now have limited chewing ability on the side where both teeth were removed and was encouraged to come back once I’m healed to place an artificial tooth (more money for them🤪). Dr Reddy was shocked when I came in for a cleaning a couple months later and I told her that Dr Brokloff refused to sedate me, and said “that is the reason I sent you to him; if I knew you weren’t going to be sedated we would’ve done the procedure here”. This procedure was now months ago and I still find myself reflecting in regret that I doubted my intuition and let these people cut into my face in such a state. While my recovery was mostly uneventful, I will now think about the lasting psychological effects of having to deal with this clinic every time I seek dental care.

Just had my wisdom teeth surgically removed here, took me 2 and a half years to find someone I felt comfortable going. All the ladies there were SO nice! Everyone went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. Brokloff was awesome, informative, and made me feel at ease about the my surgery even though I was very nervous about the procedure. Everything went very smoothly and as comfortably as possible for getting 4 teeth out at the same time. 11/10 I definitely recommend this place! Thank you guys so much! I'm so happy I'll finally be able to get some relief 😭❤
