I was referred by my dentist to an oral surgeon for a potential wisdom tooth extraction. Instead of seeing the surgeon my dentist typically works with, I decided to see Dr. James MacDowell.
Dr. MacDowell examined me carefully and determined that the wisdom tooth did not need to be extracted. A few days later, the pain I was experiencing became unbearable, and another dentist diagnosed the actual issue as an inflamed molar — not the wisdom tooth I had originally been sent to have removed. I eventually needed a root canal and crown on that molar.
I’m very grateful that Dr. MacDowell did not proceed with an unnecessary extraction. His judgment saved me from having a tooth removed that was not the source of the problem. I truly appreciate his honesty, professionalism, and careful evaluation.

Dr. MacDowell & team made getting my remaining wisdom teeth removed a super smooth process! From the initial consultation and pre-surgery interactions to the check up a week after, I could tell I was in good hands. Nancy was especially helpful with any aftercare questions!

I highly recommend Dr. James MacDowell and his team at Elevated Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery! I underwent a tricky tooth extraction + bone grafting, as well as an implant. I just finished phase 2 of this process and so far so good! Dr. MacDowell was very gentle and I had zero pain during any of these procedures (I chose to not be sedated; opted for local anesthetic only). The state of the art equipment/technology in the office makes everything run efficiently, and as least invasively as possible for the patient. The precision and commitment of Dr. MacDowell to take the time necessary to do the job right, really makes this practice stand out. Highly recommend this oral surgery practice!

From my initial contact with Fancy Nancy, to Alissa's diligence to Dr. James' patient explanation of the procedure to Mike's endearing compassion during the extraction, this is THE spot in town for all your dental extraction needs 🌟😁
Nancy was incredibly resourceful and helpful in prepping me for my visit. The rest of the process was very seamless at this pristine and spacious facility.⭐
The real treat was during the extraction. I'm being incredibly sarcastic but also honest 😂
The nitrous was a complete life-saver (which Dr. James generously included without cost).
Getting high on laughing gas is great and all, but it is absolutely ESSENTIAL considering the excruciation contained in 🦷 extraction. 😵
The aid, Mike, was incredibly reassuring and compassionate throughout the entire process. In fact, his affirming demeanor was second only to the Laughing Gas in calming me. 🤣😂
When all was said and done, I left the facility numb but delighted that I chose Elevated. Shall be returning next week for a checkup! 🙏

Dr. Macdowell and his team were fantastic! Getting my wisdom teeth removed was quick and the process was very easy. I surprisingly had no pain afterward and felt well taken care of from the staff from start to finish. Big thanks to Nancy at the front desk for being so helpful with follow-up care!!
