!!!! BEWARE !!!!! of this place. I went years ago but the visit left a very bad impression on me.
1. The dentist is a grifter/scammer. She will do whatever it takes to make extra money off of you. She used a “cavity detector” and told me I had a few cavities. FYI this was 3 years ago and guess what, I still don’t have any cavities today- confirmed by my new dentists as well. Claims dentists don’t spend as much time- you telling me they can’t buy a cavity detector device to tell me the same thing? lol
2. She will not be transparent with you that your insurance doesn’t cover the full cost, she just tells you something vague like it should cover some but she’s not 100% sure if it will cover all. Hello, use your computer and check if I’m in network, it’s not that complicated. I can tell if that will cover preventive 100%.
2. She’s been sued before and has a new patient form with tons of questions to protect herself- this is a red flag. Just follow the data and hard evidence, that stuff can’t be fabricated.

The service is generally good, though a bit slow. During my first visit, I expected some delays since it was my initial appointment. However, my second visit left me highly disappointed. Despite providing detailed insurance information, no one informed me of my patient portion beforehand. When I called to ask, they were able to provide the amount instantly—which showed they already knew but didn’t communicate it. The amount was in the hundreds, so I canceled the appointment. Yet, they still charged me a $70 cancellation fee.
This wasn’t the first issue I had with billing. During my initial visit, I also wasn’t informed upfront, and my bill ended up exceeding $300.
In addition to poor communication, their scheduling is consistently unreliable. For my first appointment, the doctor was over 30 minutes late, and for my second, they delayed me by 10 minutes (I have text proof of this).
Ultimately, I won’t be returning. While the cost is part of the issue, it’s the lack of communication & respect, attention to detail, and punctuality that solidified my decision.

I would not recommend this dental clinic. In August of 2021 I received care from Emeryville Dental. I used Emeryville because they were close to my work and had strong online reviews -- do not trust the positive reviews here.
My entire experience was very upsetting and unlike any dental visit I have ever had. I received X-rays, an oral evaluation, a cleaning, and fluoride totaling $660. I paid this out of pocket. Emeryville Dental then billed my Dental insurance for $660. I had to contact Emeryville Dental several times to request my reimbursement, and finally received it in late October.
My care was substandard and after my exam the dentist claimed that I several cavities. They immediately pressured me to make a quick follow up appointment to have the work done. Instead, I asked around my office and found another dentist that was recommended. The second opinion confirmed my long history of dental care -- I was fine, my teeth were in excellent shape, and he would not recommend any dental work.
I will not be returning to Emeryville Dental, and I would not recommend their services to others.

Honestly this is a great place. I don’t think I have had anyone look so deeply into my mouth and with such care as Dr.Magno. She was able to not only discover but actively treat several conditions that were not pointed by any of the 4 dentists I have been to in the last 3 years. She developed a treatment plan and always actively works with my budgeting needs (like a payment plan, breaking up fillings and extractions into several sessions vs one big one). In many ways I am very happy to have found her and so close to home. She may be pricier than the other dentist you found, but at least you’ll never have to replace any of the fillings she had made and won’t have to worry about your teeth with her on guard!

About San Francisco East Bay Mini Dental Implants
San Francisco East Bay Mini Dental Implants focuses on mini dental implants as an affordable, minimally invasive way to replace missing teeth or stabilize loose dentures. According to the practice's website, four to six mini implants can often be placed in about an hour, and in many cases the new teeth can be loaded the same day, so patients can leave with a functional smile without the longer healing time associated with traditional implants.
The practice also offers same-day dental implants, implant dentures, dental bridges, full mouth reconstruction, and general restorative and cosmetic services, along with sedation options and flexible financing plans for patients concerned about cost. Because mini implants are smaller than traditional implants, the practice notes they may be an option for patients who lack sufficient bone for conventional implants, potentially avoiding the need for bone grafting.
