New patient this year after moving to Bangor. A great practice all around! I needed a couple of extractions which Dr. Atwell and Katie attended to with care and professionalism. Cathy was equally thorough and professional while tending to my dental hygiene. Carly and Shannon are always on top of everything out front and start every visit off with a smile and a friendly greeting. If you need dental care in the Bangor area you will not be disappointed with Fairmount Dental!

I've been going to this practice for many years. The employees are very friendly and they are really professional in their trade. I've had Cathy as my hygienist for years and she is top shelf. Really knows her stuff and always pleasant and efficient. Dr. Atwell is also customer oriented, caring and professional. His assistants are fun and very capable. Office staff are great, too. And of course, we can't forget the pens...love the purple pens!

While on vacation, I unexpectedly lost a filling and needed to find a dentist away from home. Thankfully, I found Dr. Atwell and his wonderful team.
From the moment I called, the front desk staff were friendly, welcoming, and incredibly helpful in getting me scheduled quickly. They immediately put me at ease during what could have been a stressful situation.
Dr. Atwell was outstanding. He was professional, knowledgeable, and took the time to explain everything clearly. I felt confident that I was receiving excellent care. Dental assistant Tammy was equally impressive—friendly, thorough, and attentive throughout the entire visit. She made sure I was comfortable and answered all of my questions with patience and kindness.
The entire office was efficient, caring, and professional. Being away from home and needing unexpected dental work is never ideal, but this team made the experience as easy and pleasant as possible. I am incredibly grateful for their help and would highly recommend Dr. Atwell and his staff to anyone in need of dental care. I would recommend them without hesitation.
Thank you all for turning a vacation dental emergency into such a positive experience!

I have been going to Cathy for several years and she is the best hygienist. She is caring, wonderful, professional, and has lots of knowledge and skills. She truly cares for her patients. She is very personable and loves to know about what's going on in your lives. She also has been seeing my son as a patient since he starting getting teeth and he is now 25 years old.

No other dental practice had been as attentive, mindful and particular about my specific issues as this one. They were gentle with me and really took the time to understand what I needed.
I got great education on gum health during my visit. They assessed me for a gum infection I needed to address, something no other dentist had mentioned to me before, and I'm glad they did. They showed me the slides on the microscope, and I could actively see the bacteria responsible for my specific issues. I'm sure this will make a world of a difference in regards to my dental health and longevity.
I'm very thankful to Mrs. Cathy for her tender care and manner. Highly recommend this practice if you want a dentist who actually pays attention to your individual needs 😊
