So I only got into this place because it's who the new dental Renaissance Insurance assigned me according to my zip code. I was so thankful because I had been fighting tooth and nail to find a dental office who was accepting new patients with my insurance now that I've moved to town. For starters, they call at like 7:00 or 7:30 am to fit me in and said if I could be there by 8:30 that morning they could see me. I get there and they tell me that my appointment was actually at 8:00 so when they checked me in they put me at the bottom of the list. The whole time I was there watching the time I kept telling them over and over again that I needed to get back there ASAP because I had my cardiologist appointment to get to and I shouldn't have been waiting that long as I was told my appointment would be at 8:30. I sat there for almost 2 hours!!! I don't know what the confusion was with whoever called me and scheduled me like if they accidentally put me in the wrong slot? Or they just weren't paying attention and gave me the wrong time?? Finally I get called back there and they barely had enough time to get my x-rays done. Absolutely no time for my cleaning and thankfully was only 14 minutes late to my cardiologist so I didn't have to reschedule that appointment that I had been waiting on for 2 or 3 months. I didn't even have time to schedule my next appointment before I left or I would have missed my other appointment so they said to call them back later to schedule. I did however walk past the desk with the scheduling lady and she was just sitting there on the computer not even answering any phone calls. And ever since then I can't tell you how many times I have called up there and either get a busy tone or when I call after a while it just hangs up. There's no way to even leave a voicemail for them to give you a call back!? Fast forward to today.... I've been having bad tooth pain on and off for the past week and the past couple of days it's gotten way worse and they were actually able to get me in there tomorrow afternoon but when I went to mention that my gas reimbursement for my insurance would have to call them to verify my appointment as being urgent I got hung up on. I called to schedule the gas reimbursement and they called like eight times in total and they either got a busy tone, it just rang and rang until it hung up, or somebody answered the phone and immediately hung up on them!? I started calling around other offices immediately and got an appointment scheduled elsewhere because I just cannot with this place!! :(

I had an appointment today they told me they're doing a root canal and a crown, they didn't tell me till after they finished that I have to wait two+ weeks for the crown. They put on a temporary cap and told me not to eat on that side. There is a gap between the temp cap and my gums where food will definitely get stuck and I have never felt this much pain, even with the broken tooth they "fixed" I will absolutely be searching for a new dentist and I have no idea what to do in the meantime. I am in so much pain and they do not answer the phone whatsoever. There is also glue or filling or idk what all over my surrounding teeth and I cant scratch it off.

I have gone to Dr. Patel for 13 years. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone. I have never had issues, other than busy phone lines.

I was in need of emergency care for a broken tooth that was causing extreme sensitivity and pain. If that wasn't enough I was beginning to loose the ability to chew food. I called several dental offices in Jackson and most weren’t taking and new patients until after the new year if they had Tenncare Medicaid as their insurance. Just as I was giving up hope on being able to get relief, I received a call from Family & Cosmetic Dentistry following up with me on a email they had received earlier that day regarding my situation. I briefly explained situation , they asked me a few questions and they were able to set me up with a appointment rather quickly. The next day to be exact. Office was easy to find, friendly employees and came up with a plan that would turn my frown upside down. Very Happy!!

So I’m not really old and I’m a young child telling what has happened. The first time I had went to this dentist they filled in about 7-8 “cavities” and a root canal that I had. Dr Patel was my dentist and the first time I saw him he came in and got straight to work with the numbing cream and shot. He made weird comments on my lips calling them “fat and juicy” while having other side conversations with his assistant in the room. It didn’t really take him long when he finish all the cavities or the root canal. The fillings and root canal felt very unsturdy and 3 weeks later on one of my filling had cracked from eating food. I asked for an appointment to be scheduled because there was food getting all in the hole and I’m scared of infections.. about 2 weeks later I get a call to come in for the filling to be “fixed”. As he about to drill my tooth he did not apply enough numbing cream nor made sure my mouth was numb and started drilling. I tried to jump out the chair in terror from the pain. He then filled my mouth with my numbing shots and waiting less than 6 minutes to start again. Also when I had my root canal done a small piece of my gum was tore off due to the incorrect use of the drill. After my appointment later on in the next 5-6 weeks my root canal located on my wisdom tooth starts cracking so I had an appointment scheduled for that and it took atleast another 2 weeks. During this time my tooth had become more sensitive and loose. And when I got to the dentist after all that time, they took an x-ray scan on my tooth, saw the crack, and told me they could get it fixed right away. They also told me a small infection was starting to brew under the cracked part of the tooth and wanted to just fill my whole back tooth with a “cap”. They asked my insurance and told me I was later denied and would have to pay a $900 fee since I had already had previous dental work on my previous fillings and root canal. Their insurance team sucks and I really wouldn’t recommend them for any dental work that has to do with fillings or root canals
