First Flight Dental is truly one of the kindest, most welcoming dental offices I鈥檝e ever been to. From the moment I walked in, I felt genuinely cared for. The front desk staff greeted me with smiles, patience, and understanding, and they took the time to help with everything instead of making me feel rushed or confused.
The dental team was incredibly gentle, compassionate, and reassuring. They explained everything in a calm, thoughtful way and made sure I was comfortable the entire time. You can tell they truly care about their patients, not just the work they鈥檙e doing, but the people they鈥檙e helping. That kind of kindness is rare and makes such a difference.
The office is clean, calming, and inviting, which only adds to the overall experience. Every single person I interacted with was warm, friendly, and respectful. First Flight Dental goes above and beyond to make you feel safe, heard, and valued. Dr. Chapman and all the staff at First Flight Dental are kind, caring, professional, and knowledgeable. My whole family goes here, including my young children! The staff are great with my kids! They can get you in right away if you have an urgent need. And they take my insurance! I love this office! Don't let the renovations fool you, this place is clean, modern, and affordable!

I cannot say enough good things about Dr Chapman and his staff. Dr Chapman TRULY cares about his patients and his staff are professional, kind and caring beyond belief. He also has state of the art equipment and is able to do crowns the same day!! I also had an unexpected issue and needed an extraction and implant and he was able to accommodate immediately with the utmost compassion and NO PAIN. I am so grateful for the wonderful care that I receive from the AWESOME team at First Flight Dental. Thank you!!

Warm, efficient, friendly office. They are courteous of your time, if you do have to wait, a very kind apology is given. They are revamping the entire space so it is clean and fresh with new technology. They are able to make a crown in office so you don鈥檛 have to wait for it to come in, which is pretty amazing.
I like how a resurfacing of an ancient filling that has gone bad may possibly be able to be done without Novacaine. Novacaine for me is the worst part of the experience.
My hygienist Melanie is fabulous, very gentle.

I have a fear of dentists -even though I have had lots of dental work done in my life. They
were kind and patient with me . They were great about making it a painless process! I didn鈥檛 feel like I was being herded in and out! I enjoyed the staff and the new experience! Highly recommend them!!! They will fill the practice quickly!

First Flight Dental is a family dental practice at 1024 Colington Road in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina, located near the Wright Brothers First Flight Monument on the Outer Banks. The practice describes its mission as saving the world one tooth at a time, with an emphasis on preserving natural teeth through preventive care and restorative treatment. When a tooth cannot be saved, the office offers replacement options including dental implants, implant restoration, implant-retained dentures, implant-retained partials, hybrid prostheses, and full and partial dentures. Patients from Kill Devil Hills, Kitty Hawk, Nags Head, and surrounding Outer Banks communities are served.
Beyond tooth replacement, First Flight Dental provides a broad range of general, cosmetic, and specialty services in one office, including cleanings and preventive care, tooth-colored fillings, crowns including same-visit CEREC crowns, bridges, root canal therapy, tooth extractions, periodontal care, pediatric dentistry, Invisalign and clear aligners, veneers, teeth whitening, and smile makeovers. Meet the Doctors
The practice's dentists are Dr. Sean L. Chapman, DMD, and Dr. Danielle Mercier, DDS. Dr. Chapman graduated from Roseman University in 2015 and has worked in dentistry since 2010. He practiced in Colorado for nearly a decade before relocating to the Outer Banks in August 2023, when he purchased the practice from Dr. Jacobson. He is a member of the American Academy of Prosthodontics, the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, and the American Academy of Clear Aligners, and he is fluent in English and Spanish. Dr. Mercier is a 2025 dental school graduate who currently serves in the Army National Guard and is especially honored to care for service members, veterans, and their families. She is also fluent in Spanish.
