Dr. DeJong and Dr. Knox are experts in their craft. Despite some reviews, both current providers are amazing. I've had 25 years of dental work in my past and many complicated procedures. Both have given me amazing service and provided me with exceptional guidance. If you need wisdom teeth removed or implants, they are the best you will find in all of Iowa. Thanks DeJong for listening to my needs and giving me guidance which saved me $$$ thousands of dollars in work. I appreciate you all at Fort Dodge Oral Surgery.

I had my lower wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Pearson and have had nothing but issues. My symptoms have been dismissed multiple times and I kept being told my recovery just needs time because of my age (30). My regular dentist office found a massive infection and referred me back to Dr. Pearson where he again dismissed there being anything wrong. I got a second opinion with another Surgeon who found a tooth fragmant left in my surgical sight causing the issues and discomfort for over 3 weeks.

Let’s face it... You don’t hear many good stories about people having wisdom teeth out, and because of that, I was terrified. I shouldn’t have been, though. Dr. Pearson and his team were excellent. He took the time to actually answer all my questions and even called after to check on me. His nurses were not only extremely professional but also kind. The receptionist greeted me with a smile. I’m glad to say that thanks to Dr. Pearson and his excellent team the whole experience was easy and far more painless than I could ever have hoped for. Highly recommend and would give them even more starts if I could.

Fort Dodge Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, P.C., listed here as Fort Dodge Oral Surgery and Implant Center, is an oral surgery practice located at 804 Kenyon Road, Suite 120 in Fort Dodge, Iowa. The practice's oral surgeons perform a full range of dental implant and bone grafting procedures, including replacing single missing teeth, implant supported overdentures, full arch restorations for patients missing all of their upper or lower teeth, and Teeth-in-an-Hour. Supporting procedures listed on the practice website include sinus lifts, ridge augmentation, socket preservation, and 3D imaging. The practice describes its doctors as homegrown and board certified, and it is a good fit for patients who want dental implants placed by oral and maxillofacial surgeons rather than a general dentist.
Beyond implants, the practice covers the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery, from wisdom tooth removal and tooth extractions to facial trauma, impacted canines, oral pathology, pre-prosthetic surgery, sleep apnea, and jaw surgery, along with in-office anesthesia options. The Fort Dodge office is one of three locations, with additional offices in Spencer and Carroll that share the same phone number, and the practice says it serves patients from Ames, Mason City, Algona, Spencer, Webster City, and Storm Lake. The practice also works closely with referring dentists, so patients can be referred by their family dentist or contact the office directly to schedule an implant consultation.
The practice is led by two oral and maxillofacial surgeons who both grew up in Fort Dodge. Eric C. Knox, D.D.S., graduated with honors from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry and completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at New York Medical College before joining the practice in 2004. He treats patients in Fort Dodge, Carroll, and Spencer, holds staff privileges at UnityPoint Medical Center in Fort Dodge, and has a special interest in performing surgery with sedation or nitrous oxide. His most common procedures include wisdom tooth removal and dental implant placement, and he has served as president of the Fort Dodge District Dental Society and the Iowa Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Jonathan R. DeJong, D.D.S., graduated from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 2006, completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics where he served as Chief Resident, and joined the practice in 2010. He is board certified in oral and maxillofacial surgery, sees patients in Fort Dodge, Carroll, and Spencer, serves as adjunct faculty at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and College of Dentistry, and is a member of the Iowa State Dental Board.
