Overholtzer bought longtime dentist Joe Duncan’s business, where I was a patient for almost twenty years. I was elated when my dental hygienist from Duncan’s continued to work for Overholtzer…but then she unexpectedly left. That was the first surprise. Later, I needed a root canal. Overholtzer made a beautiful cap of the tooth in the office, but permanently placed it over the dying root, before extracting the root. To extract the root, he now had to drill a hole through the brand new crown—ruining the crown’s integrity. It failed within four years. We parted ways. In the meantime, two remaining roots were discovered beneath the same crowned tooth, roots that were never extracted the first time. The entire process had to be repeated, and paid for again.

Immature & unprofessional. I cancelled an appointment last minute because I did not want to extract a tooth that didn’t need to be yet. I do recognize that giving such short notice to cancel is not ideal. In retaliation, they cancelled my upcoming cleaning appointment without notifying me. So I showed up, hearing whispers between the staff in the back (no one is ever at the desk to greet you). Then Dr. Overholtzer comes out and says I should seek care elsewhere. Fine. But to purposely not notify me of this prior to showing up was just petty.

Super Dishonest! they Said i needed way more work that what was actually needed, their $3000 minimum turned out to be only $300 with another place.... yeah 10% the cost..... Also they tried to sell my mom a 30,000 surgery that is also completely unnecessary by other dentists.... lied about submitting my insurance after 3 weeks. Should be Investigated for Fraud!

This is subjective and a matter of preference. While I respect the perspective of a professional to understand a patient's history, for me the process at this dental office was too awkward and uncomfortable. To sit in a room for 30 minutes to review your personal history with the dentist and the assistant prior to receiving any treatment was not necessary to provide excellent dental services.

Dr. Overholtzer and team are great. You can tell they brings the best equipment and technology to their clients. They use text and email reminders so you don't lose track of appointments. Thanks for getting my family caught up on dental health.
