Gateway Dental is a rare gem. It's not often that one can say that they look forward to a dentist appointment, but I actually do! So does my son, so it's not just me.
Both Dr. Burds and Dr. Roszhart are professional, knowledgeable, and friendly, and have excellent communication skills. The entire staff are very capable and experienced in their field, and I have never had anything less than a pleasant experience with them.
I just can't recommend this office enough. ♥️

Fantastic. Great patient care from the chair to front desk staff. I have been going to Gateway dental since 2008. All visits have been handled with attention, professionalism, care and kindness. Although some procedures are not too fun, the team is truly top notch!

Excellent care! Professional and thoughtful! Best cleanings we’ve ever had and the dentist’s we had were outstanding! The front desk administrators were very pleasant, friendly and interactive. We didn’t feel like just another patient or client.

Who can say they look forward to going to the dentist but that’s how the entire team at Gateway Dental make you feel. They are personable and efficient throughout the visit. Dr. Burds has saved me thousands in orthodontics by addressing my daughters’ dental health early and preventing the need for braces. That’s very helpful. Thank you!

I have a wonderful dentist; Dr Burds, who really seems to love his job, and understands great customer service. I have the best dental hygienist, & she has taught me the sea-salt trick that will forever make my dental experience less stressful. So grateful to have found a place where my experience is positive, the employees really like each other, and are very helpful . The front desk employees are also really great, as well. Forever client. Thank you for a great smile.

Gateway Dental Group is a family and restorative dental practice in downtown Des Moines, Iowa, located at 1540 High Street, Suite 201. The office provides dental implant placement and dental implant restorations along with preventive care, cosmetic dentistry, clear aligner treatment, emergency dentistry, periodontal gum disease treatment, and dental prosthetics such as crowns, bridges, and dentures. Meet the Doctors
Gateway Dental Group is led by Dr. Stephen J. Burds and Dr. Shelby Roszhart. Dr. Burds earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 2001, and his expertise includes dental implant reconstruction of missing teeth, cosmetic dentistry, orthodontic correction with clear aligners, removable prosthetics, and crowns and bridges. He is a Master in the Academy of General Dentistry, a distinction that requires more than 1,100 hours of continuing education, and he served as president of the Iowa Academy of General Dentistry from 2005 to 2006. Dr. Roszhart earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 2020 and is a member of the American Dental Association. Her practice focuses on general dentistry, children's dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, crowns, extractions, and restorative care.
