I would not recommend Great Lakes Dental based on my experience as a new patient. Before scheduling appointments for my son and me, I specifically called to confirm that our insurance was accepted and that our routine cleanings would be covered. I was assured that they were. However, after our visits, we received a bill for more than $300 for services that we believed would be covered by insurance. When I contacted the billing department multiple times to resolve the issue, I was told that the office charges more than what my insurance allows for a cleaning. Had this been explained upfront, I could have made a more informed decision about receiving care there. I was also disappointed with how the billing situation was handled. Despite repeated attempts to discuss the matter, no meaningful resolution was offered. We even received a past-due notice before ever receiving a proper statement outlining the charges. They were unwilling to help us as new patients. The clinical experience itself was not particularly positive. The hygienist was chewing gum during the appointment and was not especially gentle. My son was given fluoride treatment without anyone discussing it with me beforehand or asking for permission. The office environment also felt dated and less welcoming than other dental practices we have visited locally. Overall, between the unexpected charges, lack of communication regarding costs, billing frustrations, and the quality of the patient experience, this was not a positive experience for our family. I would encourage anyone considering this office to carefully verify all costs in writing before receiving treatment.

I struggle with significant anxiety and fear about going to the dentist, which caused me to avoid going for several years. I shared that with the staff and they were incredibly kind and patient. They took extra time with me, explained everything, and moved at a pace I was comfortable with. Because I avoided for so long, my teeth now need a lot of work and I'll have to return a few times. They were very clear about procedure and pricing and all the ways they will help me feel comfortable when I return for my next treatment. All the staff and Dr. Jessica were amazing! I couldn't have asked for a better experience! I will definitely be referring friends and family to the practice.

This was my first time seeing there Julia Ward. I was treated really nice i am so happy that I chose to come here.. I would highly recommend for everyone to come here. My questions were answered and they listened to my concerns. I will give you guys a rating of a 100.

My experience with my hygienist was outstanding. She was the best. We talked as though we had known each other for years. I’ve been going to hygienists for 65+ years and with the exception of no one she was the best. I thought I was being examined by a dentist. Two thumbs up for her. I’m almost 80 so I forgot her name. Not unusual for me as I approach octogenarian status. See you all next time!

I had my teeth cleaned by Bridget for the first time today and she is a very excellent and professional Hygienist. She was very gentle and my teeth look great and feel so clean and amazing!! I will definitely recommend you give her an opportunity to show you herself!! Thank You!
