I am active duty and have to get pre-approval to visit this dentist. I was PRE-APPROVED to see this dentist yet they still made me sign a form that states if the insurance doesn't pay, it is on me. I thought nothing of is as I was PRE-APPROVED. The dentist here has no idea on how to work with the military, and so I received a bill for $258.00. They finally paid it as it was their fault, but only after their billing department advised "I should know the rules when I arrive". She had no idea on active duty and how the system works. Just kept blaming me. I was supposed to go to 2 more follow up visits that I canceled as I wasn't going to sign something that was already approved. This only gives them the opportunity to mess the bill up, and put in the wrong billing code and then I have to pay. No accountability on their part and I am stuck. I am fortunate to not PAY Anything for my care as I need to be "green" to deploy. If I was on a post, I could walk into a dentist, and they would just take care of me. They called after a month and advised they paid the bill and wanted me to come in for x-rays to complete my care. I reluctantly went. Upon arrival, and a pre-approval for x-rays, they asked me again to sign a form that I would pay if it isn't covered. ITS PRE-APPROVED! I walked out. What a disservice to all and especially the military.

Carmie is horribly rude with no people skills. You should be ashamed to have such a person representing your business. Work with her on custom service skills!

Gundersen Pediatrics Dental is extremely unprofessional. They are closed every Friday, making appointments so difficult to obtain. They call to reschedule appointments and they say they don’t have anything for months afterwards! It’s largely because they all decide to have 3 day weekends! They are also rude, including a receptionist who hung up on me. I do not recommend this office at all! Stay away!
Additional negative interactions:
Receptionist calls saying that the pediatric dentist is not available on a date my child has an appointment, but that the dental hygienist will see my child and the dentist will just review the X-rays etc later. I am asked is this OK? Um…NO! Isn’t this fraud? Yes! The dentist charging the patient’s insurance without the dentist even having seen the patient.
Then, when we I try to reschedule for when the dentist is actually present, it’s the usual we don’t work on Fridays and M-Thurs we work only until 2 pm. They were again rude.
Ridiculous place. I am going to change to another pediatric dental office. Everyone else should go elsewhere too.
Additionally, they are so cheap & unsanitary. They wouldn’t place a paper covering over my child’s neck & chest when they are cleaning my child’s teeth & gums & brushing & flossing. Until I had to ask them to put the paper covering on. This is a violation of safe health practices. Again, I reiterate, stay away from this facility.

They are wonderful to work with. Jamie who deals with insurance claims is absolutely amazing. Having people like that makes you want to come back there. Wonderful people to work with all around!

Place is nice in the smack dab middle of downtown so good luck finding parking we was lucky and found some on this rainy day staff is pretty cool nice waiting room just the usual free Wi-Fi bathrooms.
