My dentist Nester Dental referred me to them because I wanted a 2nd opinion & a 3D X-ray on a bump on my gum. I called & they asked me which Dr I wanted. I said whichever one that will be quick to approve a 3D X-ray. She immediately said Dr Orr. He walked in the room eating something & quickly approved the 3D X-ray without hesitation. After reviewing the X-ray he said nothing popped out at him but could perform a biopsy to be certain.
During the procedure his nurse quietly said to him not to remove too much & he said quietly with an attitude “I KNOW!” I later asked her what she said & she politely changed the subject. Afterwards he put his hands on his hips & gave me what looked to me uncertainty & said there’s going to be much discomfort because of what he had to do. When originally he told me it will be quick & only feel like a pizza burn. There was more pain than I expected. Two weeks later I’m still feeling discomfort. I requested another Dr for my follow up today which was Dr Tankersley. He was more professional & told me it was a benign cyst but was quick to get me out of there even after he said I could give him my concern's, just as Dr Orr was. If you want a quick jack in the box experience with a oral surgeon that does not take the time to help you weigh all options that will be best for you and you don’t mind them butchering you mouth, then choose Hampton Roads Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Took my mother here to get several extractions done for dentures. Great doctors and staff! Even the front desk receptionist Emma made my mother- who is terrified of the dentist feel very comfortable with the procedure and explained everything in detail. Will recommend this office to anyone looking to get procedures done!

Best dentist I’ve been to in a while, I’m new to the area, they solved my problems with no judgement, explained everything clearly, and getting a tooth pulled was a quick seamless process. Teresa was amazing!!! She explained every step clearly and was so nice and good at her job! I will be back!

Dr. Orr is nice and knowledgable. He treated my mom - who does not speak English, with care and compassion. We were just discussing about her situation and what is the plan for her broken implanted tooth. We end up didnt use their service but their customer service and the doctor knowledge would have me cone back everytime I need care for my teeth.
The office seems not too modern but well-equiped. When we were at the waiting room, a lot of elderly people are waiting, I wonder why!! The front desk person was short and not so friendly, that's the reason I took away the 1start!
