I’ve had a great experience with Dr. Prates. He really takes the time to listen and makes sure all my dental needs are taken care of. The whole office is friendly and welcoming. Definitely recommend!

This is the best dentist I've ever been to. The entire staff is very sweet, the doctor is a really nice honest person and they take extra care with their patients doing things like using warm water on sensitive teeth, keeping up with their lives ect. I've always hated the dentist but I really don't mind going now that I go here.

I love the way my teeth feel after a cleaning with Jessica. She’s the best! Very gentle yet gives an extremely thorough cleaning. She’s always upbeat and personal. It’s a pleasure to be around her and her work couldn’t be better!

Dr. Prates and team always make sure my 2 y/o feels safe and comfortable while visiting the dentist. When we left today, he said “thanks for taking me to the dentist, mama!” If that’s not a good review, I don’t know what is. Thanks HFD team!

I’ve been to three different dental offices in Hood River; Heights Family Dental is by far the most professional experience I’ve had! Each employee is clear and concise in their communication, Appointment reminders are regular and helpful, and they work with my insurance to get me the best prices.

Meet the Doctors
Heights Family Dental is led by Dr. Kevin Prates, DDS. Dr. Prates earned his doctorate in dental surgery from Loma Linda School of Dentistry after completing a bachelor's degree in graphic design and an associate's degree in photography at Pacific Union College. He has participated in the Oregon Mission of Mercy and dental mission trips to Nicaragua, has served as President of the Mid-Columbia Dental Society and as a Trustee on the board of the Oregon Dental Association, and is an Ambassador for the National Health Service Corps. He is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and Oregon Dental Association, and has received the CDA Foundation Dental Student Scholarship, the NASDAD Dental Student Award, and a Presidential Citation from the Oregon Dental Association. Outside the office he enjoys camping, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, and snowboarding around the Columbia Gorge with his family and dogs.
