I can honestly say this is the most welcoming dental office I’ve ever been to. From the moment you walk in, the entire team makes you feel comfortable and valued. The doctor takes the time to explain everything in detail so you fully understand what’s going on and what to expect, which makes you feel involved in your care rather than just being told what’s going to happen.
What really stood out to me is how they treat you like a person, not just another patient. Everyone in the office goes out of their way to make sure you’re comfortable and taken care of. It’s clear they genuinely care about their patients, and that makes a huge difference. I’m very grateful to have found this office.

Idk about anyone else but my fear of the dentist is real. Hummelgard and his staff truly eases the anxiety even before you get worked on. My only regret is waiting a decade to find this place. Seriously, Doc is hands down the best dentist around!

Dr. Hummelgard is an outstanding dentist! From the moment I walked in, the staff made me feel comfortable and welcomed. Dr. Hummelgard is both knowledgeable and gentle. He took the time to explain everything thoroughly, and the treatment was pain-free. I highly recommend this office to anyone looking for a top-notch dentist!

Love, love this office. Everyone is professional, experienced, and friendly. Dr. Hummelgard is young and a go-getter, personable, knowledgeable and trustworthy. Courtney did my cleaning and she was fantastic! My teeth are sparkling. Their prices are very reasonable compared to others. Highly recommend this dentist office!

About Hummelgard Dentistry
Hummelgard Dentistry is a general, cosmetic, and restorative dental practice located at 103 South 36th Street in St. Joseph, Missouri. The practice serves individuals and families across northwestern Missouri and northeastern Kansas, including patients from nearby Savannah and Maryville. Its restorative services include dental implants, implant restoration, implant-retained dentures, implant-retained partials, hybrid prostheses, and full and partial dentures, which gives patients with missing teeth a range of options to discuss with the dentist. The office also provides dental crowns, root canal therapy, tooth extractions, periodontal care, teeth whitening, and SureSmile clear aligners.
The practice describes its approach as individualizing each treatment plan to the whole person rather than treating every mouth the same way. Meet the Doctors
Hummelgard Dentistry is led by Dr. Justin Hummelgard, DDS, who has owned the practice since 2022. Originally from Minnesota, Dr. Hummelgard completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Saint Thomas in St. Paul and earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at Creighton University School of Dentistry, where he received multiple awards for implants, endodontics, and aesthetic dentistry. He has lived in the area since 2020 and says he strives to treat every patient as he would a member of his own family.
