i had a really bad experience at irvine family & implant dentistry. i booked a cleaning and showed up on time but waited almost 40 minutes in the lobby with no apology. the front desk staff seemed disorganized and were more focused on chatting with each other than helping patients.
the hygienist rushed through my cleaning and was rough with my gums. they bled alot and stayed sore for like two days after. dr ghatnekar came in for maybe 5 minutes glanced at my xrays and started recommending thousands of dollars worth of work including crowns and implants. he didnt really explain why i needed all of it and when i asked questions he seemed annoyed and gave vague answers. it felt like a sales pitch more than actual medical advice.
the billing was a mess too. i was quoted one price over the phone but when i checked out the bill was way higher. they claimed my insurance didnt cover certain things but no one had verified that before my visit. i called to fix it and got the runaround.
what really concerned me is i looked them up on the better business bureau later and found they have a C+ rating for failing to respond to complaints filed against them. that pretty much matched my experience of being ignored when i tried to sort out the billing issues. overall just a frustrating experience from start to finish. i wont be coming back and i would tell others to be careful with this practice.

Took my mom to have her dentures realigned. The dentist said he'd call the next day to see how well they were working but he didn't. The dentures don't fit well so we went back to see if there was something he could do. Our former dentist who is unfortunately no longer works in Orange County would do a soft realign to make it fit better. The dentist just pointed out what he couldn't do offered no potential solutions. And wasn't exactly kind. I think he's knowledgeable, but I would not recommend.

I had such a great experience at Dr. Ghatnekar’s office! He is awesome, personable, and genuinely funny, which really helped make the whole dental visit comfortable and even enjoyable. He’s very thorough in his work and you can tell he truly cares about doing things right.
The dental hygienist and dental assistant were also so kind and pleasant—they made the visit smooth from start to finish. The office itself is clean, modern, and equipped with up-to-date technology, which gave me extra confidence in the care I was receiving.
I would highly recommend Dr. Ghatnekar and his team to anyone looking for a dentist who not only does excellent work but also creates a welcoming, positive atmosphere.

Dr. J. Ghatnekar is an exceptional dentist with a truly gentle touch. Every procedure is smooth, precise and surprisingly painless. He takes the time to explain everything clearly and step by step, so you always know what is happening. His skill makes every visit a breeze.
Dental hygienist, "MT" is incredibly meticulous making sure every tooth gets the attention it deserves and assistant Christina's attentiveness and professionalism truly shines. Highly recommended for anyone who values top-notch dental expertise, comfort and care.
