Me, Howard Nelson, the patient at this clinic for 9 months, writing this review.I echo all the positive remarks of the prior 5 star ratings. While I have not needed a major procedure, I've been impressed with my hygenist, Alex, by his care, and, in two exam settings, with Dr. Harding, by her congeniality, communication skills, and competence. The office staff, an important part of the service team, is also friendly and on-the-ball. So far, so good!

Ivy Dental is fantastic!! They are gentle, informative, and professional. The atmosphere is welcoming and clean, and every person is friendly. I feel that they really care how my dental health is maintained and connects to my overall health. I had never heard of eco-friendly dentistry, but now really appreciate and respect that it is part of my care. Who wouldn’t love a practice that protects the environment, keeps community puzzles in the waiting room, and plays videos of baby animals while you have work done?!? You can tell that Ivy Dental has thought a lot about the patients’ experience. They truly want you to enjoy your dental visits and take great care of your teeth :) I highly recommend!

New in town and needed to find a dental practice. No dental issues, just needed regular exam and cleaning services. Ivy Dental was great. Office staff is responsive md efficient.They quickly obtained my records from previous dentist. Dental assistant was welcoming and explained the cleaning and exam steps clearly and quickly. Dentist was attentive and thorough. Happy to have found this practice!

I am very impressed with Ivy Dental. Alex was great. Very experienced and detailed in his analysis and procedure on my cleaning and exam. Dr Crowder was also very nice, professional and thorough while explaining all of her exam findings and thoughts. I came for a second opinion and will be making Ivy Dental my new dentist.

Dr. Crowder is more than an expert dentist— she is a thoughtful, caring, and delightful person. Having her next to me during uncomfortable procedures makes them not only bearable but interesting and entertaining. Thank you Dr. Crowder and everyone at Ivy Dental for excellent care over the past decade! From emergency dental work to routine cleanings, you all are the best.

About Ivy Dental
Ivy Dental is a family dental practice located at 914 East Jefferson Street, Suite 102 in downtown Charlottesville, Virginia. Founded by Dr. Harding in the summer of 2015, the practice is proud to serve Charlottesville families with eco-friendly dentistry, and it centers its care on conservative treatment that puts oral health first while keeping visits friendly and free of guilt or dental anxiety. The office is open Monday through Thursday from 8am to 5pm and Friday from 8am to 2pm, and it also accommodates dental emergencies.
For patients missing one or more teeth, Ivy Dental provides implant restorations, in which a crown serving as the replacement tooth is attached to a surgically placed implant post, along with other replacement options such as bridges, partials, and dentures. The practice also offers cleanings, free oral cancer screenings at every exam, periodontal treatment, fillings, crowns, inlays and onlays, sealants, root canal treatment, extractions, tray whitening, veneers, and pediatric care. Financing support includes an in-house Ivy Dental Savings Plan and help with dental insurance.
Meet the Doctors
Ivy Dental's clinical team includes Dr. Harding and Dr. Crowder. Dr. Harding earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in Louisville, Kentucky in 2010, worked in public health, pediatric, and private practice settings, and opened Ivy Dental in 2015. She is a member of the American Dental Association, the Virginia Dental Association, the Shenandoah Dental Association, and the Charlottesville/Albemarle Dental Association. Dr. Crowder earned her dental degree from the Medical College of Virginia, practiced dentistry in Waynesboro for 24 years, and joined Dr. Harding at Ivy Dental in 2021.
