Been a patient since I moved to Santa Maria in 2021. Dr. Kitto is great! He’s been able to catch when I’ve needed a cavity filled. And they’ve been able to schedule me in right away when I’ve needed further work. All the dental hygienists are wonderful; cheerful and chatty. Office staff are very nice and accommodating when I’ve needed to make appointments and pay my bill. Highly recommend him to anyone needing a dentist!

I can’t say enough good things about Kitto Family Dental. The entire team is professional, kind, and genuinely focused on patient comfort. I had a root canal done here, and it was honestly the most gentle dental experience I’ve ever had. I was impressed by how smooth and painless the whole procedure was. If you’re looking for a dentist who combines skill, compassion, and a gentle touch, this is the place to go.

I always enjoy seeing Tiffany to get my teeth cleaned. I'm sorry I didn't get to see Dr. Kitto like I usually do. I heard he is retiring at the end of this year and I definitely will miss him after all these many years of service. However, I did get to meet Dr. Goldberg during my visit. She checked out a filling that I need to have done next week. I just want to say it has been a pleasure for over 27 years of doing business with Dr. Kitto and his awesome team! Thank you everyone and God Bless you all. Patricia Facciani ❤️

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Robert Kitto for years and have always trusted him completely—he’s gentle, thorough, and truly one of the kindest dentists I’ve ever had. With his retirement approaching, I was a little nervous about the change, but my most recent visit with Dr. Pot was outstanding and put all those worries to rest. I’m notoriously difficult to numb—anesthesia usually takes extra time and multiple attempts. Dr. Pot was incredibly patient: he listened to my history, checked in constantly, adjusted as needed, and refused to proceed until I was completely comfortable and pain-free. It made a huge difference. I came in for a routine cleaning, but we discovered a tooth that needed a crown. The team seamlessly turned it into a same-day appointment: cleaning done, tooth prepped, and a perfect temporary crown placed—all in one visit and without a hint of discomfort. I’ll be back soon for the permanent crown and honestly can’t wait (never thought I’d say that about dental work!). The whole staff remains warm, professional, and welcoming, and it’s clear Kitto Dental is in excellent hands with Dr. Pot. Thank you, Dr. Kitto, for years of exceptional care, and Dr. Pot—you’ve earned my full confidence on day one. If you’re anxious about dentistry or hard to numb like me, this is the practice you’ve been looking for. — Corey

Dr. Kitto has been my dentist for over 30 years, and there is a reason I've stayed so long! He is an excellent, ethical, and knowledgeable dentist who genuinely cares about patient health. The staff are all fantastic—friendly, efficient, and professional. Best dental practice around, I couldn't recommend them more highly!

About Kitto Family Dental

Kitto Family Dental is a general dental practice in Santa Maria, California, that offers dental implants as part of a broader range of restorative services, including All-on-4 and full-arch treatment. According to the practice, an implant replaces a missing tooth from the root up using a titanium post that fuses with the jawbone, and once healed it looks, feels, and works like a natural tooth. The practice states implants can be used for one tooth, a few teeth, or as an anchor for dentures, and that most implant cases are handled in-house rather than referred out to a specialist.

The practice describes its approach as conservative and straightforward, with an exam, digital X-rays when needed, and a clear conversation about findings before any treatment begins. Kitto Family Dental notes that treatment can be phased over multiple visits so patients are not overwhelmed financially, and that most PPO insurance plans are accepted, with coverage reviewed before treatment starts. The practice also states that implants, when properly cared for, can last a lifetime.
