I have been going to Kona ohana dental for quite a while now and I'm just really pleased with the service, the kindness, and concern that they show for me every time I'm there. Dr. Li is a great dentist and he gives me the best care. Dental assistants and technicians there are great, too.
The office is always up front about charges and work with my insurance company, scheduling me when they know for sure what my portion will be. There are never any surprises, except for pleasant ones. When occasionally it costs less than we thought.
I would recommend them to everyone. Having dental work can be very traumatic at times and they make it as pleasant and experience as possible. Go see Dr. Li If you're looking for a dentist. You won't be disappointed.

The staffing and doctor was really nice, they really make you feel comfortable and have great customer service. The lady at the front desk breaks down all the dental plan clearly and helps with explaining everything that has to be covered for. The doctor is really nice and says what has to be said and say really good positive words. Best Dental.

I have thus far gone twice to take care of 4 fillings over the past month or so. Each visit has been fantastic. Despite not liking the local anesthesia shot, they make me feel at least comfortable and taken care of. I highly recommend them if you are in the market for a dental office or visit.

It’s been about a year since I had the unfortunate experience of being treated at this office. Let me preface my review by explaining that I unfortunately had tetracycline as a child which greatly impacted the development of my teeth. This has led me to spend a lot more time in the dentists chair than your average person. I have had extensive amounts of cosmetic work done and take such good care of my teeth that I have not needed any cavities filled or related work done in a long time. Which brings me to my initial visit with Dr Li.
The first time we met his office performed the perfunctory routine of X-rays and exams. Imagine my shock when I was informed I was going to need no less than three root canals along with other maintenance. I was honestly baffled by this sudden change in the condition of my mouth to due to my due diligence of oral hygiene. But I trusted his word and set up a schedule of work to be done in the future.
I decided to have one of the root canals taken care of right off the bat and that is what was scheduled for my next visit.
After arriving and sitting in the chair and having one of my teeth carved away for the root canal, I was informed that I didn’t need it after all and that it was just a minor cavity. But now I was going to need a crown to replace what he had just done to that tooth.
I was fitted for the crown and while waiting for it a technician entered the chat and asked me to choose what color I wanted for the crown. I have never been tasked with this step in the procedure before. Every previous dentist I’ve been a patient of had the professionalism to know how to do this themselves. And there I had to decide, without my glasses, in a not so well lit room to decide what color matched best with my existing teeth.
I chose wrong.
After getting home and looking closely in the mirror it was clearly not a match. I called the office the next day to register my complaint with the office manager and gatekeeper, Rachel.
Right off the bat, before apologizing or attempting to comfort my displeasure, she confronted me with the fact that I had signed off on the work and had consequently relinquished them of any responsibility.
Naturally my temperature rose as did m voice. Rachel felt uncomfortable with my tone and put me on hold for a few minutes so I could “calm down”. When she returned we agreed that I could come in and have the Dr look at it again.
When I tried to reschedule however a few weeks later she informed me that she was uncomfortable with my demeanor and didn’t feel safe having me as a client anymore and recommended other practices to contact. I asked if Dr Li was still going to take a look at the work I was unhappy with and she agreed on a final visit.
When I returned I was taken back into an exam room where Dr Li took a couple of seconds to look at my mouth again before he exclaimed that it “looks seamless”. Comical and dismissive and unprofessional to say the least.
I warn anyone who is considering visiting this establishment to really consider what you experience on your first visit. Listen to the way he talks to his subordinates and to you as a patient. And if you feel like you are being sold a list of unnecessary work by all means get a second opinion. I will close by adding that the original three root canals I was told I needed were not even mentioned by my new dental care team.
Good Luck!

I truly had a great experience. I was here only one day of my vacation and my temp aries bridge of my front teeth fell out. Rachel called me quickly and was able to get me in same day and reset the bridge. And Rachel and Sam were such a pleasure to work with. Highly recommend going to them.
