Dr. Barba and the team at Lahaina Smiles Dental might have been the best dental experience I've had anywhere. When my crown broke a few weeks after arriving on Maui, they took great care of me. They got me into the office for a consult within 2 days and Dr. Barba came up with a plan to fix my crown. He and his staff are very caring, kind, and professional. They had state-of-the-art equipment to create a new crown the same day they removed the damaged one. They worked with my insurance company to estimate the cost of the replacement. Their service and communication throughout the process were top notch. I highly recommend them.

I’ve been coming here ever since I moved to Maui a couple years ago and I absolutely love it! Everybody in this office is so nice and professional. I have a wonderful experience every time I come here. Dr. Kadohiro is THE BEST dentist ever- great at what he does and really cares about his patients. Wendy is the best dental hygienist- she is the only person I want cleaning my teeth. Sheri is super awesome, very informative and just a pleasure to be around. Alison is really sweet and always on it. Cris is super helpful and very understanding. They even offer headphones and a blanket for your comfort while they work on your teeth. So cool. I would recommend this dentist office to anyone and everyone. They’re great!

I’ve been a patient for 3 years now and my experience with Lahaina Smiles Dental has always been so awesome! The team is so warm, welcoming, and so passionate about providing the best care for my teeth. Thanks to them, I no longer dread going to my dental appointments. In fact, I look forward to it now. I love seeing every single staff. They are all so kind and sweet!
Dr. Barba is very meticulous. He’s done my fillings, crown, and teeth whitening. He takes his time with the procedures, always checks in after and makes sure the results are perfect.
Tiara is such a gentle hygienist. None of my cleanings were painful at all. It’s honestly such a relaxing experience that I fall asleep. Lol.

I highly recommend Lahaina Smiles. Dr. Kadohiro and his team are professional and a caring crew. You could not ask for better. My wife and I were on a cruise and she broke her tooth resulting in an emergency situation. Once in port we search for a dentist close by. We called and stopped by several dentist who would not take us saying they were all full. My wife needed help and finally we ended up at Lahaina Smiles. They told us they were full for the day but they showed concern for us and recognized our emergency situation and thus took us in. Fabulous people. We are very thankful for them talking care of our needs. As a result we were able to continue and enjoy the rest of our cruise. They did great work. My wife is very happy with the results.

Meet the Doctors

Dr. Kadohiro earned his dental degree from the University of Missouri at Kansas City School of Dentistry and completed postgraduate training at St. Francis Hospital's General Practice Residency Program in Honolulu. Dr. Barba earned his dental degree at Temple Dental School in Philadelphia, graduating Summa Cum Laude, and is currently part of an advanced continuing education program at the Pankey Institute. Both doctors are members of the Maui Professional Dental Forum (Seattle Study Club) and focus on personalized, comprehensive patient care.
