I went today for a consultation and everyone there was so nice and so friendly. Dr. Brown came in the room and told me exactly what was gonna happen the day of my surgery, he gave me my prescription before and after my procedure. He was so nice and very understanding to me. I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs this service. He鈥檚 removed a tooth for me in the past and it turned out perfect. Didn鈥檛 even need to use any type of pain medicine except for Advil.. Dr. Brown is the best oral surgeon around! 馃槉

I love Dr Brown and the rest of his team, because they make you feel as if you are part of their family. They are absolutely hands down the Best Dentist I have ever been to. They go up and beyond to make sure you are treated with respect, positivity, TLC, and care for whatever dental services you have came for at their Hickory, NC office. They are so hospitable, nice, professional and completely explain the process of treatment you are going to receive and honestly make you feel better even before the extraction of your teeth. I find that rare and absolutely amazing in itself!!! So I just want to say Thank you to the Legacy Oral & Facial Surgery staff in Hickory NC and keep up the awesome job. And being a light in the not so good days and making my health and life better. God Bless You all!!! See yall again soon.

When I walked to the front desk to let them know I was there for my appointment to get my teeth pulled , Denise at the front desk made me feel welcme and comfortable. Dr. Neuwirth made sure my gums were completely numb and I wouldn't feel any pain. I had 3 teeth pulled and was there about 30 minutes . He talked to me to tell me what he was doing as he worked on my teeth. His Assistant, RO was an angel. She never did tell me her name. She was patient., kept me calm and relaxed and had a happy, light hearted personality. I felt so good about my experience there that I hugged each of the folks that made my first step toward having teeth that make me confident enough to smile. If you need an oral surgeon, I would definitely recommend them at Legacy Oral and Facial surgery on Tate Blvd. in Hickory, NC

Summary: I was told to call a dr.'s cell phone after hours, possibly regarding prescriptions I made clear I didn't want for a surgery I didn't schedule. I went here because my regular dentist suggested that I consult someone about getting my wisdom teeth extracted. She told me that there's no rush, just to get the consultation to see if they are in network, as well as a cost estimate. I went there yesterday to do just that. Dr. Brown greeted me, and then proceeded to bulldoze through the procedure, as well as condescend me because I did not have these teeth extracted when I was 16. He then very quickly went over what medicines I would and would not be taking, then left. I told the lady I did not want to take Valium and asked if there was any way we could do the procedure without it. She told me she would ask. Next thing I know, I hear Dr. Brown very loudly outside the door saying that it's required, and then he comes in to tell me that this is really my only option because I "will not want to do Novacaine" and Valium is also in the IV that they give. I tried to voice my concerns, and he dismissed them with, "It's a small dose," and told me that it wouldn't matter. He would not stop pushing and pressuring me, saying "you need to get this done sooner rather than later" and "this needs to happen as soon as possible," until I mentioned that I would need to talk to my husband. The second I said that, he backed off, and then said that my husband could call up there and talk to him with questions as long as I was on the phone as well. He told me to go ahead and get the prescriptions (that I did not want and made very clear I did not want) filled. When I spoke to someone about scheduling, I told them I wouldn't be able to anyway because of insurance issues and that this was just supposed to be a consultation. Nothing was scheduled. I then received a phone call that was after the call center was closed (confirmed on the voicemail), and was requested to call Dr. Brown on his cell phone. I felt extremely uncomfortable about this request, so I called the office today to have my patient file removed. After being transferred, I was told that they couldn't do that for legal reasons and that they needed to hold my records for 10 years. I informed them I wanted my contact information to be deleted from that file, and was once again transferred. The lady I was transferred to said that Dr. Brown was probably calling because there was a problem with the pharmacy, and my prescription (again, no surgery was scheduled, I shouldn't have had a prescription that I didn't want, so there shouldn't have been one) was having issues. When I informed her that there shouldn't be a prescription (after informing her about everything else), I was told that I should get it filled just to have it on hand in case. This would have been the sedative and possibly painkillers that were prescribed for a surgery that I neither scheduled nor wanted. I once again asked for my contact information to be removed because I felt uncomfortable, and was told that a message would be left.

I don鈥檛 normally take the time to write many reviews but I have to leave one here. Coming from someone who has been terrified and put off going to the dentist for over 10 years, I can honestly say I can鈥檛 imagine having a better experience than I did with Dr. Brown. During the consultation, He didn鈥檛 sugarcoat anything when he realized I had 5 broken teeth that needed to be extracted with me having lymphoma (blood cancer). He basically said I was lucky to be alive right now and told me to never put something so serious like this off again! He brought me in the next morning for emergency surgery to get the five teeth extracted and according to my mom, (Cause I was a put to sleep) He was done in 10 minutes flat! Obviously, there was some bleeding on the first day but by that night I wasn鈥檛 really saturating the gauze anymore and could remove it completely. Now for the record, I鈥檓 on an oral chemotherapy drug that causes blood thinning so I bleed very easily and it鈥檚 hard to get my blood to clot but I started eating soft foods the very next day and even went back to work with no pain medication. Now here I am on the 2nd day post surgery and I feel like I may can start introducing some even more solid foods cause my gums honestly feel pretty good like they could tolerate some light chewing as long as I鈥檓 careful. I don鈥檛 know why I put this off for so long because it was honestly one of the best medical experiences I鈥檝e ever had and I鈥檓 ready to go back and do it all over again! (lol). Obviously, I鈥檓 kidding but if I ever decide to get some implants for these missing teeth, you best believe I鈥檓 letting Dr. Brown do it. I really can鈥檛 sing his praises enough.
