THE best dentist! Dr Kurian and team are truly amazing. They are always kind and helpful, making trips to the dentist a real pleasure. We are greeted with smiles at the door and leave with a brighter one on the way out. Great dental services with detailed cleaning and care. Can’t find a better dentist and wouldn’t want to take the family anywhere else.

Bottom line up front: he lied to get out of a tough conversation, refuses to handle nervous patients. My first two experiences with Dr. Kurian were great and he comes highly recommended in my community. He was very communicative and listened well. However, when I went to have a filling done, I was having a bad anxiety day where I was shaking during the procedure. (I also have autonomic nerve dysfunction (POTS) which can cause involuntary tremors, especially when triggered by anxiety.) Additionally, I had requested we try to do the filling with just one numbing shot instead of two. I was already very numb and I told the Dr. that since needles and medication are the source of my anxiety, and since I felt very numb, that I’d like to try the filling without the second shot and I’d let him know if it hurt me. He reluctantly agreed but I felt like he had a problem with this request. His response was “as long as you don’t hit me or freak out” or something along those lines. I’ve never been violent or jumpy with him (and that’s not me at all) so that really kind of offended me and seemed like an “off the rails” assumption. Spoiler alert, I didn’t feel a thing with just one shot which leads me to believe he might have been trying to go overkill on the numbing even though the wasn’t ever my concern. Nonetheless, we finished my filling and I apologized multiple times for my tremors and thanked him and his assistant at the end for putting up with me. His demeanor drastically changed by the end of the apppintment and he was short and rude. As I was leaving, I asked the assistant if I could call to schedule the second filling and she said yes. I left. I felt so bad about my uncontrollable tremors that I was even going to bring them a box of treats as a thank you during my next visit. I can’t imagine how he deals with patients with Parkinson’s or any other sort of disabilities/diseases that cause involuntary body movements… Does he just chalk them all up to anxiety and kick those patients out the door? Fast forward a couple weeks, I booked my next filling. A week or two after that, I get a text saying they were cancelling my appt because the doctor doesn’t feel comfortable treating me with my anxiety. I was being referred to a “wonderful female dentist” …not sure what that’s supposed to mean. BTW, that dentist doesn’t take my insurance so that “referral” was useless. I responded to the text message explaining that I was very disappointed that simply because I had tremors, that the doctor was no longer willing to see me. I politely expressed frustration that they let me schedule an appointment in the first place if they were going to refuse to see me. I had already taken the time off work and coordinated a ride. I asked if the doctor would be willing to see me one more time and if I continue to have anxiety, then I would agree to see a different provider. The receptionist responded and explained to me that she had no idea that all I had was tremors. She also said that Dr. Kurian had already told me that he would no longer be seeing me as a patient anymore, which I swear on my life he never did. Apparently Dr. Kurian even got mad at the receptionist for scheduling my appointment in the first place… It’s not her fault that he lied about telling me something he never did. I feel so bad for the receptionist who was put in the middle of this and was lied to in order to take care of the tough conversations that he was too cowardly to handle himself. Not sure if he too was having a bad day but the whole situation could have been handled a lot better.

Finally found an awesome dentist but unfortunately I’m moving away. Best dentist I’ve come across in a long time. On top of that, he’s an excellent human being. Staff is friendly and respectful. I really felt comfortable there.
