I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience, in hopes it helps others make an informed choice. During my root canal, the office used a mouthpiece that held my mouth open and constantly blew air while suctioning. I understand some offices use that technology, but for me it was extremely uncomfortable. It made my throat painfully dry, the noise was overwhelming, and after a while I started feeling panicked and claustrophobic. I’ve never experienced anything like that at another dental office. During the procedure, something appeared to go wrong. The dental assistant was still in training and seemed unsure, and the receptionist came into help. As a patient lying there, that did not inspire confidence. I was so uncomfortable, I decided not to return to that location and went to another office under the same company. Unfortunately, that experience also felt awkward and left me feeling like I’d made the wrong choice by returning. The one bright spot was Ann at the front desk. She was incredibly kind, patient, and helpful with my insurance questions. She even stepped in to help during my procedure when the assistant was still learning. Her professionalism, compassion, and customer service were outstanding, and she was truly a tremendous asset to the office. Unfortunately, my overall experience with the clinical care was so uncomfortable and disorganized that I won’t be returning. I hope the practice invests more in patient comfort, better communication, and making sure staff are fully trained and supported.

Please, please do not be misled by the high average reviews of this practice. 1 star feels…generous. I went here for a cleaning a month and a half ago and it was the worst dentist experience I’ve had. The dentist told me I had over 12 cavities before even examining me. My last x-rays were 9 months prior and I had no cavities. I don’t know if it’s because of the AI that they use or if they’re just trying to squeeze patients for money, but this was crazy to me. They told me they wanted me to come in four more times for four rounds of fillings, totaling over $1600 WITH insurance. The best part of this interaction? The dentist fully arguing with me, saying that I must never floss and have very poor dental hygiene. I don’t think I’ve gone a day without flossing & brushing in 15+ years, which I told him and he kept arguing that I definitely don’t floss. This was such a bizarre experience. I’ve never had a dentist accuse me of not flossing before, and I’ve NEVER had a practitioner argue with me like that. Just so bizarre😭
The cleaning I got was the worst I’ve ever had— it lasted ~5 minutes and left me with bruised gums and visible plaque still on my teeth. Maybe the dentist should’ve focused on cleaning my teeth instead of asking if I was interested in whitening treatments. So frustrating as my insurance covers two cleanings a year and this 100% was a waste of that coverage.
I told them very clearly I would be going elsewhere for future care because (1) their cost estimates are insane, (2) I truly cannot believe that I developed 12+ cavities in 9 months, and (3) the cleaning I received was shoddy at best.
I was going to let it go and not leave a harsh review, until I got a text recently. Over a month and a half after my visit, they contacted me saying that (without my consent) they contacted my insurance to ask for a pre authorization on the fillings that they previously suggested. I told them in no uncertain terms that I would not be coming back and I recall explicitly telling the receptionist to please make a copy of my x-rays to forward to my next dentist. I don’t know why they went behind my back to try to get me to return to their clinic— maybe they have a quota to fill. But I will definitely not be returning. Please avoid this place!! Trust the recent reviews and don’t believe the AI-generated responses she posts to each honest review!

I had a very disappointing experience at Dental Q - Lincoln Park. When I checked in, I was told that my insurance was in-network and that my visit would be covered. However, after the exam, I was suddenly told that my insurance was actually out of network.
To make matters worse, I was told that any treatment would have to be scheduled as separate appointments on different days instead of being completed together. That felt unnecessary and left me questioning whether it was being done to increase the overall cost rather than for medical reasons.
The inconsistent information about my insurance wasted my time and made the entire experience frustrating. I expected transparency and accurate information before receiving care. I would recommend that anyone considering this office verify their insurance coverage independently and ask detailed questions about their treatment plan and scheduling before proceeding.

An exceptional dental experience from start to finish!
Dr. Mahi Mehr is incredibly professional and attentive, taking care of every detail with compassion and precision. The staff is welcoming, friendly, and makes you feel at ease from the moment you walk in.
I had the best cleaning of my life—gentle, thorough, and so well done. The atmosphere of the office is calming and beautifully designed, creating a comfortable and pleasant environment.
And the best part? Dr. Mehr’s dog, Hazel, is at the office, making the dental office like heaven for me. Hazel’s presence adds a warm, unique touch that truly makes this place stand out. Highly recommend Dr. Mehr and her wonderful team! ❤️

Dr. Pezeshkpoor was fantastic! He was very kind and compassionate. I had a dental emergency. I was told by a different dentist that my excruciating pain was tmj and to wear a mouth guard. I got a second opinion from Dr. Pezeshkpoor. He diagnosed the problem right away. I had a cracked tooth that the other dentist x2 at the same dental office missed. I was going out of my mind for 4 days in crippling pain. I am pain free and happy now. I highly recommend DentalQ. Thank you Dr. Pezeshkpoor!
